Even talking about electric cars is dull as dish water..... “my battery is bigger than yours”!!!!
Duck off
People find enjoyment in different things. Some like talking about electric cars while others prefer dedicating their time to talking about people talking about electric cars. To each his own.
You’re right , I need to get a grip. I have cabin fever. I am working away stuck in an apartment in a millionaires playground in the south of France overlooking the marina in Antibes and I’m on here talking s%#t with geeks.
I’m off out to wet my whistle and powder my nose ...
thanks for pointing out the error of my ways.

I agree.

Personally I actually think the lack of sound is a positive thing. I would feel like a complete tool driving around in many modern high performance cars due to their completely over the top sound they make and I really miss the more subdued sounds that many high performance cars had in the '60s and '70s. I think it is really refreshing to see different approach.

Now if only electric Harleys could become popular ...
Like an E-Type. Yes almost silent.

Deary me.
Have to agree with the above comment. Had an RS3 come flying past me today and proceed to tailgate the car in the outside lane with his exhaust popping and farting every time he lifted off.

The wife asked if his car was broken, when I explained it was supposed to sound like that she rolled her eyes and it was difficult to disagree. Just silly on the public road, like the kind of crappy aftermarket exhausts my mates used to fit to their Nova SR's/R5 GT's when I was a teenager.

Smaller engines and turbo's have ruined the sound of performance cars.

Been driving a Tesla for the past couple of weeks and I have to agree. It seems like these cars are screaming to make up for their lack of speed.
I think we've grown up with an idea what a fast car should sound like, that is just put in there by years of conditioning by all sorts of media. For this generation it will be hard to let go, but I'm certain the next generation is just going to view it as another form of pollution coming out of the back of these old machines.
I will always remember the sound of an 8C passing by, but it's hard to deny that's it's an anti social machine in that way.

The trouble is all electric cars are going to feel the same. Linear, silent, boring.

One of the great joys of a car is having a choice of different configurations. Autos are dull enough but single speed ‘and’ no noise?

As for driving, most Tesla’s I encounter just want to try and prove a point, either off the lights or otherwise.

Really? I've driven the Model S, Model 3 and I Pace and I don't think they are alike at all.

Yes, they all have very efficient and linear power delivery, but other than that...

As for trying to make a point, really? I've not seen that. Of course when 0-100km/h in 3.5 sec is on tap, doing even double that might be seen as "trying hard" in a dinosaur car.

I saw a Model 3 this week and really wanted to like it. But ###k me was it an eyesore. Proportionally all wrong. The windscreen angle and roofline looks crap

Well it doesn't leave me cold. That sort of acceleration is mind boggling and I like the quiet (slightly bland) styling. I can't bear the creased, venty fussicking of the vast majority of modern high performance cars. I hope to God they don't actually try to give it that sort of range though, I presume it would then weigh 2.5 tonnes.

Ah, the hyper-car for the mildly embarrassed.

The way the power is delivered is identical. It’s a battery and electric motor. How much feel can be engineered into that?

Just what I’ve experienced. Both P100’s, my dinosaur made lots of noises that scared the owners as it sailed by smile
