As probably none of us will be able to actually buy one, do we care at all?
With all due respect, have you wandered onto the wrong site by mistake?cybersimon said:

"Porsche 718 Cayman GT4: six-cylinder power confirmed
Andreas Preuninger, head of the Porsche GT models, has gone on record as saying that the GT4 will be naturally aspirated, pointing to a detuned version of the 4.0-litre flat-six found in the new 911 GT3."
I posted the link to that earlier in the thread but of PHers here know better and rubbish something that was first reported months ago. So I’m going with the PHers because clearly they know more than the head of Porsche GT production. "Porsche 718 Cayman GT4: six-cylinder power confirmed

Unfortunately like Audi, Porsche have been a victim of their own success. They sell so many more these days that they have lost their rarity so don’t appear so special.
In fact most of the premium brands are now mainstream.
Part of the attraction of car ownership for some of us enthusiasts is to have something a bit different.

But that same sentiment could be levied as bluntly towards all Ferraris, Lambos, Porsche GTs, Tesla Roadsters, etc etc that get featured here...which would lead to a pretty boring site if they just stopped covering that stuff.
Bring back the days when TopGear did a supermini roundup, that was entertaining TV!BlackFlag said:
Drive and potential 6 aside, I could never get on with the looks.
The 718 'rear' looks good, but the front end looks pretty bland compared to the 981. A shame. Think I'll stick with my 981 - whatever lump they put in it. 375 horses are enough for the road in any case.
