Where is it ha ha? Front and rear fog lamps not working. If not a fuse any idea lads as they were both working before the engine removal?

I have a series one 350i and the fusebox is shoved up in the void above the passenger footwell along with the relay board these are only attached to the car by the wiring so be careful how you move it!. On later models TVR took the much more refined approach of attaching the fuse box to the back of the glovebox. Luxury!

Further to previous post it may be the switch contacts are dirty. If they haven't been used for a while the contacts oxidise. I'm afraid it is an annual ritual keeping the switch gear working... Disconnect power, pull switch from centre console, spray some contact cleaner on to the contacts, operate between ten and twenty times, another spray, re-assemble and when dry re-connect power.

Its had a lot of work lately... New Rad and engine removal and they have only ceased since them jobs, so i imagine it could be because of those, ye never know though..... These effin wedges!!! Switches out tomorrow though and a jolly good clean. Sick of taking that binacle cover off, proper good look tomorrow! Driving lamps are are covered with caps so it could be difficult, Maybe keep the bairn off school to keep track eh!!!

Wot Ian said except

don't remove switch
don't disassemble anything
have power and lights on
flick switch up and down between 20 and 50 times even after it starts working
don't put switch back

Job done.

Cheers lads, success with the rear fogs, operated the switch 100 times or so and its working. Tried the same with the front driving lamps but no joy. Further investigation needed me thinks. I fitted a new radio not so long ago and might have disturbed a few wires to the switch, Also i removed the lamps when i re-cored the rad so its got to be something along them lines.
