This will be worth a watch!
A bloke who doesn’t believe in science has built his own steam powered rocket that he will launch himself in from a launch pad stuck on a 2nd hand motor home.
It’s sponsored by the flat earth nutters.

Don’t worry if it goes wrong, he’s going to make sure he leaves enough food out for his cats laugh

He doesn't believe in science? Should the rocket therefore not be powered by love instead?

As he says science is the same as science fiction, why doesn’t he teleport himself instead?

Why bother using a device dependent on Newton's Third Law if he doesn't "believe in science"?

"That's not science, it's just a formula."

No word yet on how it was derived. Probably with love. Or magic.

pay per view huh.

Obviously not quite as daft as the people who are going to pay to watch.

These sort of efforts are to be encouraged. I would even make them tax deductible to do this, or provide grants.

It would certainly help cure longevity/population growth challenges.

Not sure that the elder Hero would have been aware of N3 either.

Given enough super heated steam and indistructable pants, may make it a couple of feet.

hehe

Imagine the mental anguish of this poor flat-earther soul should, by some bizarre miracle, he actually eventually manages to make it into orbit.

"Steam powered" could be particularly dangerous. I'm going to hazard a guess that he's basically built a water rocket like a kid's toy ... except he's heating the water up to above 100C and the pressure in the tank stops it from boiling until it comes squirting out the nozzle at which point it boils, expands, etc

Water sounds benign, but if the tank fails, all the water boils instantly and needs to expand about 80-fold to return to atmospheric pressure. This creates what is known as a bloody great explosion. All of the rocket's power is instantly released. That makes it considerably more dangerous than, say, a solid fuel rocket.

Seems it is not his first attempt video of one of his previous attempts, apparently launch pressure is ~400psi in his steam rocket and yes he is sat next to it.... what could possibly go wrong!
