Thanks to the owner for taking the time to post up the bills and running costs. Info like this is really useful to see.

The costs incurred with this are academic for most as we'd never be able to afford one in any case. My 9-5 Aero has cost me around 15% of it's purchase price since I got it last January and I have covered 10K in it (not all necessary but want to keep it tip top).

The OP has covered less miles in his 360 but had it much longer. What's 15% of his purchase price? Horses for courses.........

How many miles has the car covered ?
Or have I missed that ?
It was around 29,600 when I bought it. Around 34-35k miles now I think.

Nice car - as you say a V8 manual Ferrari is something else.
... Have you thought about taking it on the track OP? I did Donington this year - great fun.
Thank you! Your 355 with Capristo must sound incredible.
I have considered it but most track insurance will charge an excess equivalent to 10%, which is hefty given where values are right now. This has put me off, hence I have a 2nd car which I don't mind using for track work (although I have just sold my DC2, so will be replacing that in a few months time).

No problem at all, happy to share smile

Lovely car, horrible number plate.
Sorry to have offended you rolleyes
The plate isn't to everyone's taste or understanding, but it was bought for me by my parents as a Christmas present shortly after I purchased the car. It has a great deal of sentimental value to me.

What do you think is the REAL reason for your neighbour being so bitter? Are there multiple reasons?

There was a LHD F1 gearbox Modena spyder at the NEC auction earlier in the month, it looks fabulous in silver with tan seats and went for a very reasonable £66k.

Compared to the money being paid for Escorts and Focus's, it was a absolute bargain.

Even the running costs look reasonable given the type of car and that it included tyres and consumables. Nice car and thank you for posting OP.

Thanks - look similar to the ones available as an option on the 355 (which Clarkson had in his).

I had a 355 Spider Manual for about 6 months and sold it as it was so unreliable - a 30k first class condition main dealer car too. I got next to no joy from it - running costs too were high - but zero depreciation of course. Even the Ferrari mechanics admitted they are not reliable - you'll read otherwise but try owning one and using it - it's just frustrating.

You could argue costs are offset by capital value increases but I enjoy turning my cars on and using them. I just don't think the old Ferrari cars can offer you that. However, I suspect I'll do it again!

That's lovely, OP, and on the nicest wheels too, IMO.

I've driven one of these (blue, manual) and it was a very nice thing - felt so agile, great brake pedal feel and throttle response, and sounded superb on the move. At idle it was too loud (Tubi system) but that would be nitpicking. Enjoy!

Less than 5,000 miles in four years.
I think I’d cash it in and buy a car that is slightly more usable and cheaper to own.
I think you are missing the point..... he’s got a Ferrari FFS!
Just knowing it’s in the garage must be a great feeling, let alone driving it.
If you’re using it for A to A drives then that mileage makes sense. I only do 2k a year in my Lotus for the same reason. It also makes it more of an occasion.

Given that the vast majority of the costs seem to be time related rather than mileage, they really doesn't seem that bad to me considering the type of car. Shame it doesn't get used more though, I don't think I could ever own a car which I was scared to park in a public car park.

It'd be interesting to know what it would cost to run one for, say, 5k miles a year.

Great car but 'screamer exhaust'? Saw a group of similar cars driving through a local village recently, some were revving the tits off them. Not a nice noise, anti social and came across as right dick heads.

I remember being a little underwhelmed with these when they first came out (I was still besotted with the F40 and the 355 at the time!) but they've really aged well haven't they?

Very nice car OP - as a few others have said, I'd try and drive her more often if you can, with the work you've had done it can only bring the total cost per mile down surely smile

Red, manual and carbon seats, what's not to like. Running costs seem reasonable to me, bearing in mind there isn't much depreciation.

I've spent £9k over 7k miles. £3k main dealer service, £3k wear and tear items & £3k on a stradale exhaust and TCU...but the price has gone up 80% in my ownership.

For most a ferrari would be 2nd or 3rd car hence the low use, not comparable to a everyday car.

A main dealer service is 700 notes? I would have thought they’d see you coming. I’ve had AMG mercs costmuch more for just routine stuff. Reasonable smile

Nice car Sir.

I had a red 360 coupe, manual with a blo*dy noisey Tubi on it for five and half years and really enjoyed owning it (although the Tubi had to go). It made me smile even when getting the mower out the garage, which is some feat as I cant stand gardening.

I reckon my running costs were about half of yours with about the same mileage.

My daughter still hasn’t forgiven me for selling it even though I have a great fun Boxster Spyder and a new 911 Carrera T on the way.

Some cars just pull at the heart strings... and nothing pulls more than your first Ferrari experience.

My next Ferrari will be a 512BB or F40 so it might be a very very very long time before I go there again.

I hope you continue to enjoy yours to the max.

Cheers
Ed
