Sauber running the up to date Ferrari engine, with some of the works team input and resource could be fairly competitive
Also gives the works team more data and testing.

If they sign LeClerc then that would be good for the Ferrari's future

I'd say Audi\Porsche in WEC is a poor example since they both built distinctly different engines - this is just badge engineering.
Not unlike the Renault F1 with Lotus branding?
That was Lotus funded using (then) Ex Renault F1, which went well until the money ran out...
I forget the facts, but didn't Lotus just lend their name to the team and paid nothing? smart!

Group Lotus lent their name, and were the title sponsor of the team which got less competitive (obviously) as the money started to run out. I believe there were bailiffs at one of the races (Spa?) in their last season ready to claim the team's equipment as a result of not being able to pay.

Caterham certainly do exist making road cars.
Caterham F1 were Team Lotus / Lotus Racing. 2012 -2014 Then went into administration.

Honda's from 1985-91 was a tremendous success.

Past performance isn't an indicator of future etc etc

Don't think so.

Arrows were called Footwork for a period (as a branding exercise), but that's all I can think of.

Did they turn into anyone or just fall off the planet?
Super Aguri, who then fall off the planet.

Yeah I'm well aware.

Given this is an F1 thread, he meant the F1 team, which doesn't exist.

Now that looks epic. Looking forward to my complementary tickets to the F1 now from Alfa smile

I understand they have kept Ericsson? Anyone else heard this is true?

^^ That is being widely reported.

Speculation is that Whelein will be reserve at Merc, and Giovanazzi reserve at Alfa.
