I know a long time ago, but did anyone ever find a solution for the drone at 70? My wife is insisting I sell the car as we cannot use this for any long distance driving because of the noise!

Didn't get any answers on my own thread 🙁

Drive at 60! That’s genuinely what I did.

I just used to turn the music up until I couldn't hear it anymore... You could look at getting a meaty centre silencer made up at a local exhaust shop although I expect it'll kill all exhaust noise altogether, which won't be much fun. No solution I've come across I'm afraid!

I was thinking of dyno matting the floor of the car. Just not sure how much this would absorb. Not actually bothered about exhaust noise , quiet happy if there wasn't any at all inside the car.

Google "helmholtz resonator exhaust"

It's basically a tube that joins the exhaust and runs parallel to it, that's capped off at a certain length (the length determines the frequency it cuts)

You'll need an RTA app for your phone (FOC) to determine roughly where the droning frequency is, then there is a small amount of maths and welding, job jobbed

As recommended in the earlier thread and above, you need to visit an exhaust specialist and ask them to create something bespoke / cut in additional silencing.

If you want to go to the trouble of dynamat, use CCF and MLV instead, will block exhaust and tyre noise better than CLD, which is to stop vibration not blocking noise...
