Interesting, are those dates for cars where a deposit has already been made? I spoke with Mike at Winchester Renault and he suggested a deposit placed now would deliver a car in Q2 2019.
This is for the Premiere Edition.
Gotcha, thanks.

I quite like the idea of ordering something and forgetting about it for 12 months - gives an opportunity to try something else in the meantime.

Quite. Those who have an order for the PE have been waiting since December 2016!

Hard decision to move on from the 981. I'm not sure from what I've read so far that the Alpine will be an improvement but it will be something different.
Not for me. Don't get me wrong the 981 is a great all rounder and (pre-Alpine) the only one in it's class I'd likely consider. But I've had cars that were more fun and which I'll look back on with greater fondness, even if they were more flawed. I suppose I really ought to try an Evora...

I saw a tweet from the Winchester dealer, Martins group, saying they had taken their 50th order so that's great business and way more than I expected so far for one dealer which certainly helps make the business case for stand alone dealerships. (and yes I know that is not confirmed sales but just repeating what the tweet said)

Not necessarily good for his customers. Alpine are clearly keeping a lot of balls in the air - they have to deliver to all their dealers (to keep them happy).

Rant mode on-
Am I the only one seriously unchuffed about the Alpine experience so far?
Complete information blackout
Useless app - I thought the app was our gateway to Alpine. It appears not.

And this is before they have the rest of our money
I’m having serious concerns about after-sales service from Alpine given the experience so far.
Has anyone signed up beyond the deposit and dropped more money on it? I’ve heard no more from the dealer and I could chase him but I’d expect the dealer to keep me updated if I have to do anything.
Head honchos from Alpine moving on before the project is completed is a concern regardless of their reasons.
I should just shut up and pull out but I really want you this car to be great and it is the first new Alpine I’ve been able to buy.

Longest car 'launch' ever....!

Seems to have been coming out for over a year or more although I'm sure it's less.

Perfectly reasonable rant. Alpine have been very lax about communication - and most of the dealers I have been talking to have been unprepared too. That said Winchester have seemed much more on the ball - and have been as frustrated as us about lack of communication from Alpine. I'd be surprised if anyone has actually got as far as an order - there isn't, as far as I know, a UK price list yet.

As you say the App is pretty useless - except when they inadvertently provided a download of the car's manual.

I'm still pretty relaxed about it - though I can understand those who aren't . As you say the departure of key management figures is a worry - my biggest worry - though they may just be capitalising on kudos gained on the project.

At least now that there are some people who have taken delivery we are starting to get a more balanced of the car's merits on the FAR forum. At the moment the criticisms are limited to things we might know or suspect - lack of internal storage, dire rear visibility, the desirability of front parking sensors, and a reluctance to change down automatically in "Normal" (to get those mighty impressive economy figures).

Or anything that Gordon Murray proposes; I'm still waiting for that god awful three seat city car with the opening front!

Alpine's lack of communication isn't specific to UK; many complaints in France as well; some were really frustrated by that. Many did their reservation straight in Dec 2016 and we're Apr. 2018...
But as said bcr5784, now the first deliveries have started little by little and things are calming down.
The key is patience because as far as I know (if information is correct), their daily capacity is 5/day, but they're working on capacity increase to achieve at least 10 or 15 at most.
June isn't that far, so UK won't have to wait that long anymore to get the first deliveries, though.

Precisely.

Whether either of them will amount to a row of beans remains to be seen. Internet enthusiasm didn't do Alfa 4C any good, nor GT86. I see fewer and fewer sports cars on the road as every Brit seems to want an SUV or an Audi.

True, I hope for the buyers it is as good as they are building it up to be

Or an Audi SUV. Which is not surprising considering how good they are for general driving and that owning one probably doesn't prevent from also owning a sports car or a track car.

The are selling about 10 a day at the moment and now approaching 5600 orders/deposits. That said I see that the PE is priced at £51805. I doubt that will impact sales of the PE in the UK (others will take up the slack on cancelled deposits) but if the relative prices of the Pure and Legend match those on the continent then sales of them in the UK might be hit. Different on the continent where prices are far more competitive relative to Porsche.

Not clear if it's OTR or not though

When I spoke to Alpine Mcr ystdy (Ian), he said the price hadn't been confirmed yet, but doesn't surprise me that one hand doesn't know what the other is doing - have gone from being very impressed to wondering if they are properly on top of everything at Alpine over the last yr or two

I dread to think how long the wait will be for my reservation, but it is slightly frustrating that they haven't been able to communicate better with regards to when the centre will be open, test drives possible, final order time frames etc.

I did notice they have added some audio to their website, and it looks like there have been group and road tests / track tests in the UK that are still under press embargo. I imagine the publishing of these will coincide with the push from the dealerships.

Top Gear quoted it - https://www.topgear.com/car-news/alpine-a110-will-... and I confirmed it with my dealer this morning.
