RE: Alpine A110: Driven
Discussion
I have V5 already but no car! 😂
Should be ready for collection Next week hopefully.
I'd agree with all comments regarding the buying experience being somewhat a let down. Just as well it seems the wait and lack of communication will be worth it from all the reviews of the car.

Saw this white one on m1 this afternoon. Halo ringed headlights looked very tacky. Bit underwhelming in real life sadly.
That looks loads bigger than the impression i got watching all the youtube videos.Edited by MiltonBaines on Sunday 19th August 14:17
I thought it was going to be more like ford puma sized .

I never could understand why many of the roadtests emphasised how small it was. It's actually exactly the same width as a Cayman (though 8 inches shorter) - and that was obvious from day one. However, when you drive it, it does feel much smaller than a Cayman because it is so agile and therefore you can make better use of the road's width than you can in a Cayman.I thought it was going to be more like ford puma sized .
mine is due for pick up next week on my birthday 24th.
It's registered as i know the reg but i know they had issues registering it due to "Alpine" not being listed as a manufacturer with DVLA.
I may car was also tracked all the way via the dealer but they did lose sight of it for a few days once in port at Southampton.

True... I have no idea of option and accessory prices, not having every looked at the configurator. Definitely a steep price for a net and storage box. I’d be amazed if the service prices aren’t more inline with RenaultSport than Porsche...
When I had my TTS it was a decent car but I didn’t have a lot of love for it. The running costs were not the cheapest but relatively painless which was the thinking until it I was able to step to a a Porsche.
Alpine are mixing it with Porsche in the market place but I just don’t see them thinking we can charge similar for after sales stuff...
More fun, less running costs and great service should be the aim.
I fear servicing will be at least as expensive as Porsche. See https://forum.alpinerenault.com/viewtopic.php?f=80... posted today at 19:44

This is where they really shoot themselves in the foot. What are we paying for??I fear servicing will be at least as expensive as Porsche. See https://forum.alpinerenault.com/viewtopic.php?f=80... posted today at 19:44
Gives me more of a reason to get it serviced at a Renaultsport dealer as it’s the same engine (plus a few ponies) in the Megane R.S.

It’s made by Renault using one of their engines (but detuned ffs)
I see no justification for servicing to be more expensive than the R.S. Megane
It will use the same oil as the Megane ( perhaps with added helium to save weight...) and I would expect most if not all consumables to be the same.
Might be some more labour given it is mid engined but what are we going to be paying for?
Might see how good the Porsche coffee is tomorrow. I know the Alpine stuff is ste and they use powdered milk!
This is a real shame. I don’t know if it is
different in France but it feels as though we are being treated poorly in the UK.
I know it is a first world problem but if I was relaunching a brand I wouldn’t do it this way.

Speculation so far, non? Based on one 'devis' / quote a guy on the French forum got. Can't imagine they'd really want ~GBP 250 for windscreen wipers.
The prices look too specific to be mere speculation. The wipers are odd in that the water for the washers is routed via them, so I'd expect them to be rather expensive. But 295 euro is really extracting the urine. If you can replace the rubbers alone without the arms it may be cheaper.Regarding the wipers, they say you can change the blades only which cost 5 or 6€.
