What the hell? Why? That's one of the weirdest things I ever heard and never knew anyone that didn't liked a proper car handover. On the otherside, I can't understand those who go with a flock of people, family and/or some petrolhead mates yes, more is just showboating.

If it has to be done the switchable glass sounds the way to go but I understand some people don't want any fuss and nothing wrong with that. They should be given the choice of a low key pick up or for those who want to feel the love and made to feel the love, the works.

Gosh, that's awful.
Interestingly, a friend of mine who recently bought a new VW told them he'd wait in the customer waiting area with all the free coffee, where he would enjoy a latté while they got rid of all the fluffy nonsense and could give him the keys to drive home.
He and I are of a similar mindset.

Yes, pretty thing -- even better in the metal. They are onto something. Do I hope the inital momentum keeps going or would I selfessly wish for some cooling down so I can afford one earlier ? For those with one on order: well done! Some reader's car content would be certainly appreciated.
For those interested, there is a British Alpine dedicated forum.
Ian, Alpine dealer in Manchester has recently joined the forum.
He went to Dieppe 2 weeks ago. He can definitely give us useful infos

I note that demonstrators are moving out to the end of June or into July. I can't see how they can make all the PEs by the end of August while we still have the option to change the colour.Ian, Alpine dealer in Manchester has recently joined the forum.

I've been told it would be December before all UK deliveries are made. My centre is West London.Prestonese said:

Sounds more plausible. I guess I'll go for a September delivery or failing that I might as well wait until Jan 1. That is, of course, if I like the car more than my 981S - there is nothing compelling me to change.bcr5784 said:

Hard decision to move on from the 981. I'm not sure from what I've read so far that the Alpine will be an improvement but it will be something different. Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
