Autocar, so many salt pinches needed.

Given the small weight changes between the Launch, Pure and Legende I'd be surprised if they've changed the springs and dampers.
They have got the weight of Pure wrong too - it's now quoted as 1098kg, not the original aim of 1080kg (I think the Pure was originally going to more stripped out).

Well I managed to sit in the black Legende at Le Mans. Had the electric seats and not the lightweight ones that my PE will have but I can't wait for a test drive.
Rear viz looks as though it could be OK for driving - seems there is a wide letterbox view out back not a narrow view.
Finish seemed very good - not sure the black is the best colour - interior quality seemed good. Cannot wait.

Alpine staff were very helpful-

Great stuff. Did you manage to get any news on when UK cars will start hitting the roads?

Did you see the very dark blue one on the stand? I thought it looked pretty cheap and nasty. I was disappointed but is probably a bad colour choice. White one in the car park looked better. Wish I had seen one in the metallic blue used for the press pics.

That was the one i sat in. I thought it was more black than dark blue but as i didn’t think much of the colour I didn’t pay it much attention.

Has anyone taken delivery yet? All gone quiet on the test drive front but I think a few people were expecting deliveries in July? Presuming my PE will arrive in August

We (depositers) have been told that all PE cars will be delivered by end of august

Expectation appears to be that they will start arriving by end of July/early August

Manchester's demo car has been delayed - they thought they would have it by now. Appears to currently be 'any day'

Still waiting to hear - finally popped into my dealers to actually meet a human a couple of weeks ago - RHD dealer showroom cars were in production then, but not heard anything since - though rep at Goodwood said RHD run was almost complete for PE cars.

If it slips into Aug I may wait until the new plate - i'm away for a couple of weeks anyway, and have agreed with the dealer that it's going to the guy who details my cars for a full paint correction etc prior to collection - interestingly he was saying they've got to transport the cars covered from prying eyes....

I heard that cars have already arrived in the UK and there's probably a bun fight by dealers for first allocation to the flippers...or something cynical like that.

That aside, I get the impression from various (though not sure how reliable) sources that mid-August is where we will see a lot of deliveries happening.

Fingers crossed hey. Though I get a sense there's a weariness about this long wait already......

I’d heard from a fellow PE deposit holder that the dealer told him all PE need to be registered in August as there were new emissions regs after that. Sounded like a bit of a story to shift the stock when it arrives but who knows .
Must say I don’t blame the flippers as this is getting a bit dull and a £20k “bonus” is tempting. I mean why cancel a car and let the dealer benefit?

Are the PEs really trading that high above list in the UK already? Geez... Well done to the early adopters!

The "registering before September" Spiel will likely be no myth. There's some WLTC and Euro 6D legal crap changing for EU cars in fall this year. It's either register before the deadline or rework all of the emissions stuff.

Officially green with envy. Hope the peeps getting one on here will entertain the interested populace with a good 'reader's car' thread or two.

If they aren't WLTP compliant then they will need to be registered by the end of August.

I forsee alot of awkward conversations between dealers and customers who have had their car on order a while with the approach to September and the new plate and the customer thinking, "well I've waited this long for the car, what's another couple of weeks for the new plate", but being told the car has to be registered before September.

What I don’t understand about the emissions story is that these cars are the first to be delivered. Alpine are hoping to sell many more pure and legende versions with the same engine so I don’t know what emissions trickery they will employ with those cars. Smells a bit fishy ( might be the cats not at temperature...). Perhaps they can give us a free engine upgrade to the full fat engine in the Megane R.S....

what are dealers doing with their stock by the way if they can't shift it before the deadline? are all of a sudden lots of new unregistered cars going to be unroadworthy? or will they have to pre reg everything and sell at huge discounts?

September could be a time for bargains!

Most dealers will pre-reg anything left over, but if you want a deal, go in now and ask about any NEDC stock left, we'd rather register straight to a customer for a deal than pre-reg!

But this just doesn’t make sense.
If the Alpine won’t pass new emissions tests then what is their plan? I could understand this if it was a run-out model but it is a brand new model
