I read somewhere said they all have to be registered by today so if there are 130 in total it does seem unlikely that only 10 registered so far.

What happens with the showroom cars are they going to be registered by today as well.
There are just over 100 customer cars and the rest are display or test cars. There's around 140 in total in the UK. The Pure and Legend versions only go into production in December I've heard.

In Japan they don't even have a RHD version and the 50 cars allocated into that market have been put into a lottery system. Apparently they stopped accepting entries after 1000 people signed up.

It's strange to see the cars being flipped as nobody is asking for ridiculous overs on the ones listed. There are a few more in depth reviews being done by the journals right now so people are waiting to see if they are positive. Alpine need significantly more sales volume in the UK though to make it viable in the long run.

For all your Alpine owners (or those very keen) one of my favourite model co's has produced the new A110.

They're not the absolute best models you can buy, but at the price point they're really very good indeed.

Have one of theirs of my 106 Rallye and it's excellent.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it doesn't appear to have opening anything - boots, engine or doors. With such a large scale model that seems disappointing - unless it's cheap - which I assume it isn't.

it is a rare big 1:12 scale model not the normal 1:18 so will probably be sold out already. just like the full size version...

Popped in to my local Alpine dealership today for a good nose round the car in the flesh. I’ve never seen anything quite so colour sensitive before, really liked the black and the blue, absolutely hated the off-white.

Overall though I liked it a lot, sure the interior isn’t up to Porsche standards but in isolation it’s perfectly fine, and TBH interior quality really isn’t a deciding factor for me anyway.

Sadly, it’s another car I’ll never fit in thanks to most of my height being in my torso. I could probably just about get in it with the seat on its lowest setting without my head actually touching the roof, but no chance of driving it properly without bouncing my head off the roof lining.

Bugger.

Given that the Alpine has a more room than most, any chance a Legende with the reclining seats might fit?

Well I’m 600 miles in and can use more of the rev range. I used it for work today as intended and it was a great drive to the station ( I have off-street parking there so will hopefully avoid parking dings) Have to be careful about how it picks up speed in traffic- that is my own fault for being a tad lead-footed and driving a lot of things less responsive.

I find myself short shifting at times as it gets up to 70 quick enough and I don’t need to wring its neck. I think they got the gearing just right but it does like to hold gears that bit longer in Sport.

Discovered the “hidden” scroll wheel for the stereo that all Renault users will know about. It’s not hidden at all, I’m just an idiot. I’ve never owned a Renault so it was all new to me. Must say the system works great now I know how to use it! ( I read the manual in the end) sound quality is superb and it plays hi res aiff tracks well from an sd card (none of this info is in the manual alas so it was an unexpected bonus)

I can’t believe I was going to cancel my order at one point but the buying process was a tad underwhelming. Glad I stuck with it as the car is great.

I do feel a bit odd opening the “bonnet” to put shopping in ( yes, I’m still at that stage of making excuses to take the car out) but the rear boot is too hot for anything electronic I feel - great for takeaway food ( and clothes, not takeaway clothes..)

I do find myself having to hold back- there are some great roads near me and they are wonderful in the Alpine. Occasionally I’ve come across the classic 45mph specialist - 45 in 30/ 45 in NSL and the temptation to fly past (in NSL) is strong but the car is engaging even at lower speeds so you don’t always have to be “ on it” to be enjoying it. It’s great just cornering at sensible speeds realising just how much grip there is in something so light.

Nearly got rear ended twice now by car fans trying to take a photo on their phones rather than watch the traffic but at least there doesn’t seem to be any negative attention. Even got waved at by a cayman owner so they don’t hate us ( sorry I didn’t wave back but I didn’t see you wave until we were level).

I’m in touch with a few owners - they all seem good guys and we’ll arrange a trip or two as time goes on. If we do anything interesting we’ll put it on Pistonheads but don’t hold your breath! Any other owners out there feel free to get in touch.

Certainly worth a try, it was fairly close. I'm locked into my Golf for another year or so but something to check out when that goes back.

Good car or not, I wouldn't pay much attention to a 70 year old scribbler telling me it's as much car as I can use.

Presume you are going for a Pure or Legende then? There is still one new PE in Black available for list price. Those that are being sold above list are still good value compared to waiting time and equivalent spec for a Pure/Legende.
If I was to add to the PE spec then a reversing camera would have been useful.
