Thanks for the quick responses, it's under warranty as it's a 2016 plate but I don't have the warranty documentation.
Just take it to a dealer then. Warranty is all electronic these days so the physical paperwork doesn't actually matter.

To be honest I always take some issue with people joining only when they have a problem. Your'e clearly not into cars so just take it to Ford and leave everyone else out of your problem.

Hi all,

I didn't know Fords have a problem with the engines until now where I see videos on youtube where they show that EVERY RS is going to blow up sooner or later and feel like I've been conned. Can't find anything online.

Thanks.
You've contradicted yourself there, saying the problem is all over youtube but you can't find anything online about it???????

A very quick google of "2016 Focus RS problems" brings up lots of info so I'm not sure how hard you looked when researching them prior to buying.

Have you been in contact with Ford? The Focus comes with a 3 year/60,000 mile warranty.

Ford's own website says this is transferable.

"Base Warranty

Every new vehicle benefits from a Ford Base Warranty that is operated through Ford Authorised Dealers. This warranty covers any part of the vehicle that requires repair or replacement as a result of a manufacturing defect. The part will be repaired or replaced completely free of charge by any Ford Authorised Dealer, regardless of any change of vehicle ownership during the warranty period

The warranty starts on the date of registration of the vehicle."

So why don't Ford want to know? Surely it is just a warranty claim.
There is certainly more to this than meets the i.

Your local recycling centre will give you £150 for it.
I will give you £300 for it.
You know it makes sense.

Why do Ford want money to sort it? Is the car modified?

Maybe Ford dont want to touch it because you haven't told them what the problem is, just like this thread....

There is no warranty documentation. You just need the reg number, and the dealer's computer will tell them the rest. As long as it hasn't been modified, and the required services have been done on time with genuine parts by a suitably qualified person, there's no reason Ford shouldn't at least look at it under warranty.
