Jaguar - an ‘old mans’ car?

That's a pig - what's happened to you, Jaguar??Jaguar have gone from making the cars Jaguar want to make to making the cars customers want them to make. Older people like me who are more interested in what's best rather than what's new and who consider the new design language rather vulgar and tasteless and so naturally prefer the more traditional classic appearance are probably unlikely to buy one.
Of course that doesn't matter as we'll be dead in 20 years time whereas younger customers hooked into the brand now might keep the firm afloat for decades onward.
Obviously not for me then, but I hope it works for Jaguar

There are so many different Jaguars, an F Type R is so far removed from that 2001 Gold pensioner spec S type as it is from the XK120 compared to an X type.
XJ's are generally the coolest, especially and XJR in black, Hannibal Lecter had one.
Even down to the model, colour and trim levels make a huge difference.
I agree, I am 24 and would avoid a gold S-Type with small wheels and lots of chrome like the plague... However, I love my modified Super V8:XJ's are generally the coolest, especially and XJR in black, Hannibal Lecter had one.

Probably seen as chavy by conservative Jaguar buyers, but people even my age and younger seem to love the shape of it, I personally think it is ageing well due to not trying to be modern, same goes for the X150 XK. Was not a fan of the X100.
The original XF looked great, but the new XE/XF/E-Pace are very meh for me...
I'm 28 and I have a legitimate old man Jag, in old man spec, an 09 X-Type. I've had it two years, and it's the perfect daily driver for me, diesel, auto, leather etc. A lot of old people remarks, mostly from my middle aged, middle management colleagues who love their company Volkswagens and the image they project.
Drive what you like, sod what anyone else thinks.

My CLS63 has been called an old man's car before, I'm 35 and I think that a lot of comfortable saloon type cars get labelled 'old mans cars'. I guess it's because it's assumed an older man wants comfort, quietness and an easy drive. To be fair, maybe I'm an old man as I have come to appreciate those things.
As for Jags, I would say their more recent vehicles have quiet a different image. They have gone for sharp looks, nice styling and a modern look rather than a more classic style of older models.
