Car Snobs - I Despise Them
Discussion

I have 0 interest in ever owning a new car, nor do I care what my car costs to buy. I won't bother explaining that I have no issue with leased cars as no-one is going to bother paying attention to it.
If you have no issue with them then why have you started a thread moaning about it? I mean you claim they look down on you but have not given any examples of this...

Why let it bother you? Let them be snobs.
From 17-23 I've had an old Astra, Citroen C4, Smart Roadster, MR2 MK3, MG ZT. All of which were ste cars in most people my ages' view, but I liked them for their own reasons.
My leased Fiesta Black Edition got the most praise purely because it was newer. Probably the least fun car I had as I was scared of damaging it
what kind of idiot young person sees a mid engined sports car and thinks it must be ste? Well unless they are French of course. From 17-23 I've had an old Astra, Citroen C4, Smart Roadster, MR2 MK3, MG ZT. and I have the same worry with my leased Fiesta ST , hardly the fanciest car in the world but I am such a careless driver I reversed into my garage wall the first time I parked on my driveway, cracked the bumper lol. I've kerbed every alloy, bought rim protectors and smashed those too. I am not looking forward to handing my car back in 2 years time LOL.

I can't be the only one who despises people who look down on other people because they don't drive the same leased car as them? I take st for driving an ST170, guess what, I'm 18, I can't afford to drive the same generic blue leased Golf R as everyone else, and I couldn't stomach driving the same leased Ibiza FR as everyone my age either. I'd say it angers me, but it's just sad to see, I can't help but think it adds to my enthusiasm for cars dying more and more. I'm sure I'll take st on this too before it turns into another lease thread.
The Golf R is the real world aspiration for many white collar office insects of this part of the world - it has one of the best practicality vs performance vs image vs PCP installment affordability co-efficient.In other words, it's the definitive highly sought after poor-mans-thinking-mans super hatch/super car. It embodies your self-esteem and where you lay in the pecking order in this Tory governed land.

Times they have a-changed. At 18 I was lucky enough to afford a 200cc Suzi 2 stroke. At 20 a Z650 Kwaka, at 23 my first car, V8 SD1 mind. £700 for the car was a lot to me then, 27 years ago now. If you are young, be it bike or car, get what you can afford and enjoy it, cherish it and photograph it. Years later it will make you smile with memories

or maybe it's just a decent car? In other words, it's the definitive highly sought after poor-mans-thinking-mans super hatch/super car. It embodies your self-esteem and where you lay in the pecking order in this Tory governed land.

You genuinely must be moving in the wrong circle of friends. It does seem though that you dont like being judged for driving a Ford ST170, however you are judging people who lease cars.
My advice - enjoy your car, its a great one and dont give a monkeys about what other people think / drive.

I have, hand on heart, never understood why anyone would give a monkey's toss...
a) ...what other people drive
b) ...how it was funded, and whether the driver can afford it. My 72 year-old, Daily Mail reading father-in-law hypothesises that every nice car he sees driven by a black or Asian person is either stolen, or funded by the sale of Class A. No less bitter and sad than seeing a complete stranger in a nice car and crying "lease", "PCP", or "How can they afford that?"
c) (perhaps most appropriate for the op) ...what other people think about what THEY drive.
Life's too short for such crap. Buy (or lease, or PCP) what you want, drive it, enjoy it. Being bitter and angry is bad for your health, trust me.

And I just find it sad that people are s enough to look down on what other people drive, especially when they have nothing to back it up with.
Very confused by your experience, a while back I drove an owned golf r, and can't say I looked down on anyone, and now drive a stbox ds4, and don't feel like anyone's looking down on me....So maybe the issue s you, and your perceptions.... Nice car at 18 btw....

OP, on a separate note, if you can't understand why people have read your opening post and concluded that you have a problem with leased cars, my recommendation (1) is that you learn more about language and how to use it to convey sentiment and meaning.
(1) or don't, I'm not the Secretary of State for Bossing People About, you don't have to listen to me.
