Ford has confirmed that the Bullitt Mustang will be available in summer 2018, with the first car being auctioned for charity. They also stated that sadly for everyone in Europe, the model will only be available in North America.

Hopefully the article is up to the usual DT standards... hehe

I do like the look of that. Not many cars seem to be able to pull of dark green these days, but that once certainly does.

Also, can’t believe nobody on here has mentioned that it’s Steve McQeen’s granddaughter driving the Mustang yes

I was going to try and be clever and say Frank couldn’t affort a new car on copper’s pay but apparently he could as the car and film were both from 1968.

That looks spot on. Already liked the new front of the Mustang but that looks even better!

@ Gareth 220 - you should be happy your wife takes even a passing interest in cars, let alone says she wants a V8 Mustang - you should be getting your order in now!

Agreed

My wife hates cars and no interest whatsoever

Looks great and I like the ad too! Here's hoping it comes to the UK in RHD
Just get a LHD one imported if they don't. I have had a 2006 Mustang GT (now up for sale) for the past 8 & 1/2 years as a daily driver and the LHD has presented me with zero problems, the only time it might be an issue is if you use tolls of any sort that don't use ANPR or tags to collect payment, but even then there are simple and cheap ways around that problem.

My wife has a 2017 Shadow Edition GT, she loves it. Make some enquiries with Ford UK and surprise your wife Gareth thumbup

My wife investigated this morning about expressing interest in one if they do come to the UK. The Inchcape Ford franchise were uninterested in discussing it. She was the only one they had heard from with any interest in the car.

To be fair they probably switched off when they found out it wasnt a mainstream Fiesta or Focus she was enquiring about. Ford dealers arnt really used to having "special" cars.

My wife has an itch that isnt going away around owning a new V8 Mustang, and its not something I am encouraging be added to the collection. However if the Bullitt edition did come to the UK that might just be accepted into the garage.
Why are you not encouraging? The new Mustang is brilliant fun!

And as for the criticism that its just a V8 tractor, you should be well-accustomed, after all you've got an H2 tractor in your garage innit mate? wink (BMW GS)

To me, the new car looks great until you look at the front bumper - or more correctly what's below it - that front air dam just doesn't work well on a homage to the original Bullitt Mustang.

It looks good, and I'm sure it will be a superb drive, but the latest model doesn't have much in common styling wise to the 68. As the owner of a 2008 Mustang Bullitt, all least you can see the family ancestry.

Looks superb. I’d love a LHD one. Am I the only one who thinks all muscle cars should have the wheel on the other side?

Those little porthole windows at the back are lifesavers at oblique junctions, covering them with anything is not a good idea.
