I need travel spending money in US Dollar bills, but I've been told that the notes need to be in un-creased,
un-torn and in excellent condition to be readily accepted where I'm going.

I could go to one of the high street travel agents, banks, Post Office etc. and inspect, but get a lousy exchange rate,
but I'd prefer to get a better rate on-line from somebody like Travelex and get it delivered to my home.

Any experience with these on-line bureaux regarding condition, or how to get notes in good nick please?

Why not just use Kyat instead. Dollars arent widely (or at all) accepted outside of Yangon anyway.

Is there a Sainsburys near you? They tend to be as good as Travelex and you can pick up and check the money in store. I've never had grotty notes from them in whatever currency I've used.

If not, check the other supermarkets. They are all comparable and better than the travel agents or Post Office.

I didn't know that, but I believe that there aren't that many ATMs in the rest of the country and there's a pretty low limit as to what you can withdraw each day.

@ Ricksalfas - thanks, do I have to order their 'Taste the Difference' dollars biggrin

Where are you based?

If in/near London I've always got the best rates from CityForex/Thomas Exchange (extra discount if you work in financial services) - they even deliver to you

Travelex have a sale on until 1pm today. $1.355 free delivery over £600, £4.95 otherwise. If you order over £600 go through quidco and you get 0.5% cashback too.

And I’ve only had fresh notes from them. The BART in San Fran didn’t like the fresh notes so the woman behind the desk screwed them, unfolded them and bingo it loved them, bizarre!

Very common requirement in Africa and Asia,, but I've never had an issue with bills from an exchange or a bank, normal problem is with bill you receive as change, Once got a good deal on a few old 100$ bills In the Sudan, from a hotel that knew me, no one would take, them even my bank in Asia, but I used them to buy car parts from California, just sent the old cash bills buy post
