It's all about halo models but GM and Dodge have already been there but only GM seem serious about making a ridiculously fast car.
I am sure Ford will aslo stick a "Shelby" badge on it, despite no actual input.
Or... you could read the glowing road tests, I suppose and look at the 'Ring times, I suppose....
7:13.90 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Z06
7:16.04 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE (2018)
that's 2 seconds faster than the 911 GT2 and GT3.
Seems a fairly founded basis to me. After all, Ford did their best with the over-hyped GT350R so let's see if they can do better this time.
What's the 'ring time for the GT500 which comes out next year?I am sure Ford will aslo stick a "Shelby" badge on it, despite no actual input.

You'll never know because Ford haven't even put the GT350R round it - sorry to burst your "clever bubble".So they either think (a) they don't need to, (b) it's not relevant or (c) they think their cars will be slower.
Any fool can see it would have to be incredibly fast and talented to beat the ZL1.
I'm a Mustang owner so I'm not exactly biased against Ford but they have traditionally failed to better GM at making a fast car.

Apologies, didn't get down that far. I don't think they've put the Ford GT round it though?

I don't think Ford will give a toss about ring times, it's not destined for Europe so why would they?
Neither was the GT350R. But the Mustang is sold in Europe so would benefit from the kudos. The thing about the 'Ring is that it is long enough to enable a really quick car to pull out a large time difference thereby proving endurance as well as speed.
Laguna Seca times, being a shorter circuit, make the times look closer.

I have number 1 hand experience of ford being jokers, they cant even make the cars they have work let alone coming up with new ones. Its all publicity and PR to scam morons then it blows up and whoever bought the car is left holding their longfellow in their hands.
So of the 6.5 million cars Ford produce every year, none of them work? Morons being the operative word, particularly those who expect a manufacturer to honour a warranty on a modified car. Even when that manufacturer's warranty terms express clearly in black and white that any modifications outside of approved accessories invalidate the said policy.
If you're going to troll at least try and mix it up a bit.

Do ford pay you to pup up that sort of tripe?!?!? Morons being the operative word, particularly those who expect a manufacturer to honour a warranty on a modified car. You must be so stupid.NO MANUFACTURER WILL HONOUR AAWARRANTY ON A MODIFIED ENGINE THAT GOES POP. THIS IS NOT UNIQUE TO FORD.
How hard is it to understand?
