What the heck IS the point of violent acceleration over 100mph? I used to be able to get up to 115mph pretty regularly in cars that were pretty much maxxed out at that, but now I've got a 155mph+ car, trying to find ANYWHERE to do more than 70 without getting nicked is harder than ever.
Clearly you have never been to Northumberland. Or the North Pennines in Durham...

Car & Driver have just recorded their fastest ever lap time in a GT at Virginia International Speedway - quicker than a 918
Indeed but, given the GT is a thinly disguised race car and only 1000 people can buy it, it also puts the GM times in context, although they do stress it might go even faster."In the end, the GT set a time of exactly 2:43. That makes it both faster than the Mercedes-AMG GT R (2:43:4) and the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE (2:45:7) when C/D tested them". It's not a huge margin between that and the pukka road cars but hey, a win's a win.
The C7 Z06 did a 2:44 making it great value. Hopefully, Ford can extend the traditional Ford value for money to this car.
