Alfa 159 3.2 Q4 Qtronic Ti

7 registered in the UK when new, only 3 or 4 taxed. I’ve got one of them.

Someone has liberated the engine.

And the interior.

That thing now qualifies as a skip.
Loving the colour coding too.
Meh, it's French.

The BX19 Gti 4x4 was pretty rare too...

Actually thinking about it so was the 405 version, the Mi16x4.

More modern stuff:
Volvo S80 V8.
Subaru BRZ Auto.
Ford Galaxy V6 4x4

MK2 Scirocco GTS. More of a trim level than anything else, rare nevertheless.

These were rare old girls too!

I never knew this was an official but rare colour. I remember a scrapyard in Accrington having two of these balanced on the roof of its building for years. I assumed they'd just been resprayed but they were this lilac colour.

Ah, a W202 C55. Extremely rare as you had to buy a C43 first then send it back to the factory so they could convert it.

I sold a Rover Coupe around March 2017. It had done 50k miles in 20 years.

It was an automatic (a CVT box) which was very rare as it was an option that barely anyone paid extra for, given the nature of the car.

When I sold it, it was 1 of 2 left in the country.

I miss that car - it was never boring. I drive a 530d now which is very forgettable. Next car, Mustang.

The Mokka S will probably get in there!
When I worked for Vauxhall the Mokka was launched - the S appeared in the order books but had no dealer support whatsoever - better models were cheaper to buy!
Took 2 years before we saw one, and never had one actually come through the showroom. The only Mokka without alloys!

Also just came across this rarity currently for sale in Melton Mowbray:

Vauxhall Insignia Sports Tourer 2.8 V6 4WD Elite Auto!

Same engine as the VXR but detuned (260bhp) instead of 280bhp) Never knew this mix was available - brown leather too!

Great Q car, nothing apart from the exhaust to differentiate from a cooking cc

Whoever specced those wheels must be a bit special.

Seem fairly standard Insignia to me, loads of them seem to have 19" alloys

They were standard spec for XV-Line SRi Insignias, with an upgrade available to 20". Not standard for an Elite model but then again not sure when it's got that engine in!

V50 D5 and T5 seem pretty rare given the large numbes of 2.0d.
Less than 1000 and 500 of each apparently licensed

I wouldn't set any credence to any figures on HowManyLeft.co.uk. According to them there are only 8 Z06's in the country. Well, I've had three, and I know they're all still around. I'm sure there are more than 5 others out there. I also have a '64 Willys which doesn't seem to exist at all.

The VXR has a good 40bhp more than 280!

Their numbers are likely pretty accurate, but they are at the mercy of how a car was registered, so there are cars only registered by the manufacturer name without a model, or a generic model name rather than the specific full detail.

So people will say "oh, there's only 3 of those Ford Escort RS Turbo Nutter bds left", which is true per the records, but the records don't tell you there's 30 registered as "Ford", 50 as "Ford Escort", 12 as "Ford RS", and so on.
