if you watch carefully, the peugeot has one of the mopeds drive back infront of it after he makes an initial move....

awful scenario .... thank god the windows were laminated and double glazed, else they would have shattered into a thousand pieces like most cars....

the bm moved away and some of the other cars ran red to move away..... if she had no moved so soon after the bm, she'd have had a nice gap to escape to the right earlier.

Exactly, I'm sure they wouldn't be quite so tough with that thing trying to mow them down.

PH search is notoriously st, but FYI there was a thread last year ... https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=17...

I'd guess the driver of the Bentley would be justified in driving over them to escape as they're offering deadly force with an axe.

I can't imagine how scary that would have been, if it'd been me in that car, with my kids in the back, I'd have surely escaped without worrying if they'd have got hurt.

If this sort of thing continues it wont be long before the public starts to feel they need to arm themselves for defense.

F... me that is scary - and I don’t even lock my doors. Might have to revisit that approach

I haven't watched the vid but sounds like the one after the lady drivers watch.
IIRC, the driver was wearing an expensive Rolex, it's suspected the little scroats were after that rather than the car itself

I always lock my doors (wish the car would lock them automatically...) - passengers often say "what... why are you locking them?" then I explain the scenario of waiting at traffic lights, somebody walks up, opens the passenger door, takes my bag (or whatever) and walks off, or maybe gets in and asks for a wallet/phone/lift etc. It always gives them something to think about, hopefully next time they are stopped in traffic in a dodgy area they will be reminded and start a habit of locking.

I dont think we really know what we would do in that situation but I like to think I would cheerfully use my 2 plus tonne metal behemoth to get away by whatever means necessary to someone hitting the window with an axe, if they happened to get in the way then so be it.

I did have a loon in an RS turbo stop in front of me once to have a rage despite him driving like a man possessed, told him to get back in his car as I am setting off and if you, or your open drivers door are in my way, then you or it are coming with me, he realised I was serious about this and i think it was the thought of seeing his door facing forwards that changed his mind.

I dont advocate anyone using a car as a weapon, unless you are in danger then you have to use whatever you have to hand.

Scumbags.

Just grab a pen on your dashboard and stab the hands until pen can't be removed from between hand bones. Or grab an arm and drive off.

I'm almost certain I would do this, though until it happens you don't know for sure I suppose. I can't see a jury convicting a driver for running over the genetic detritus in order to get away. Stopping and reversing back over them a few times might be frowned on though.

Thank you that was an interesting read. I’m not sure why the search function is crap, do you just enter the keywords? Don’t get it!

Those windows are freaking strong man! Bit of a shame since they would also stop a bullet meaning the driver couldn't defend themself. Unless they had an AK which seems to be the only way to deal with those thugs.

Rightfully so maybe but I’m 85% sure the police would prosecute you and the perps would press charges and you’d be in for a whole world of pain.

Agreed. Unless I knew the person in the Bentley, then I'd have the same reaction the cam driver did. Sit back, the record for evidence and don't get involved.

To much risk of prosecution / personal injury for someone I didn't know. Harsh as that sounds.

Reminds me of another story where a guy was spotted leaving a pub wearing a Rolex. Couple of lads on scooters attacked him for it, he wasn't the sort of guy to hand over his watch to people like that apparently. Stabbed to the throat many times and killed.

All for a fkin watch
