Christ Tarrant has been banned for 12 months for 50microgrames of alcohol in 100 ml of breath - limit being 35 micrograms.
Fair enough. He had been drinking in a pub.

The thing that gives me pause is that he was reported to the poice by a member of public in the pub.

Would you have been that citizen?

I'm not sure I would.

Why not? Because a famous person can't kill when driving drunk?

Dobbed in by a neighbour over a 'bitter planning feud' apparently.

Who knows? How much had he drunk and how pissed did he seem?

Maybe Tarrant is a dick.

I guess if you're in a feud with your neighbour you shouldn't give them such good ammunition.

'Bitter planning feud'. Should have planned to drink his bitter at home, rather than in the pub.

My thoughts excatly - They aren't special or exempt from the law, just because they're famous.

Doesn't matter who it is. Over the limit is over the limit.

Still, on the bright side, 12 months of time at home to consider how to make sure the new extension is in Neon Yellow brick biggrin

I can imagine the Magistrate........

You're disqualified from driving for X Months and will have to pay a £x fine......................BUT WE DON'T WANT TO GIVE YOU THAT! Double the disqual and double the fine..............Mr Tarrant, you should have phoned a friend.

it is weird he pled guilt though. I guess the witness must have advised different.

''‘Once he was at home, as he was not to drive himself again that day, he freely admits he drank a quantity of alcohol – some brandy and later some wine. ‘Having been at home for some time, he was called upon by a police officer who approached him outside his house and required him, following information received by a member of the public, to take a breath test.''

£6K fine!

Ouch, is it in some way means tested?
I'm guessing he a millionaire but why did he get a fine when someone like Wayne Rooney got a community order?
