As a former Lupo GTI owner I may well get one of these.

If it's even 80% as good as the Lupo was it'll be fantastic.
Not being funny, but why didn't you keep the Lupo? Do they still command good prices - off to autotrader..

Considering my daily commute is 60% A roads and 40 b (zero motorway!) I may give one of these a test drive. It kinda reminds me of the Renault Twingo 133

Wonder what the lease price would be on these ? that will be the clincher if it is a reasonable lease price, under £200 month ?
I'd bloody hope so, since my Fiesta ST is under 200/month.
Too right!! It wants to be way under £200!

You could get the Golf R estates for £150 +vat the other month.

My wife's Abarth Trofeo on PCP was only £235 down and £235 per month with 8k miles per year.
And like I say it's literally in a different league to that Up. 160bhp, Apple car play, looks better, I guarantee it sounds better and as I've said it'll kick the Up's arse point to point.

The idea of going back to grass roots with a low power warm hatch that you have to wring its neck, sounds great.
In reality they're sluggish on big roads and if you wring it's neck a lot you look like a tit.
Ok if you're 17 I suppose. wink

Would be nice if you could spec smaller wheels. Those 17s look stupid on it Imo and probably make it ride pretty poorly over rough roads, ie all of the uk.

Otherwise looks quite a decent package

All the reviews I’ve read have praised the ride quality, the test route didn’t look to be on perfect tarmac...

I really quite like this and the Vauxhall Adam S. Might nip by my local dealers and see if there will be any to test drive.

I like the Adam more, but it is more expensive

Shame I don’t have room for this

£4K, seems reasonable. Have to be sure when buying these that they’ve not been badly modified in the past. There will be quite a few out their with their chassis ‘notched’ to go lower.

Nice looking thing, but frankly far too heavy. Nearly 1000kg?! It's the same weight as a 3 cylinder fiesta for goodness sake.

Same engine and 850kg if what I was expecting.. Shame really.

Which translated into at least £330 with the initial payment and fees.

This looks like a magic little car, when does it actually go on sale? Although the 500 Abarth looks good value against it?

Looks like the silver option for the UK might actually be Tungsten Silver. Still a nice colour, but not as dark as the car on the German configurator.

That's great news, tungsten silver is really nice especially with the sport spec with rear tints and sunroof (exactly like the one I had hahaha)

My daily is a 2011 polo 1.2 Tsi 105hp. It's a nippy drive and fine on motorway with its six speed box,
I'm probably moving to Portugal later in the year and have been looking at these, though cars are expensive there, new or used.
The VW PT site doesn't list the Gti yet. But I would probably go for the new 90hp Tsi model and spec it up, including sunroof etc., so the high up model with options comes to about £15k n change should be fun enough.
I had a look at one in a showroom here in the UK a couple of weeks ago Think I'll get a rental in Portugal for a few weeks before decidInsg.

Eh? The Up is 880kg if I remember correctly, and a new Fiesta is nearly 1200kg... Have you been at the cough medicine again?

I bet these won't be available in the UK (not from factory anyway) as they are listed with winter tyres I think.
