Has anyone seen a silver version yet?

I'm leaning towards red I think, I think silver might be too dull.
I was dead set on silver until I learned that the UK market was getting Tungsten Silver. I don't mind it on the Golf GTI, but I don't think it is right for the up!

I think if VW were being true to the MKI GTI colours they'd have used Reflex Silver.
The non GTI Ups I have seen look just ok in Tungsten but I really need to see a GTI in that colour to decide.

I’ve been told July, but I suspect if it is late July I’ll just push it on to 1st September.

Every dealer I spoke to said there had been huge interest in it. I do wonder if the Bratislava factory has the same capability as Wolfsburg though.

Popped into one of the nearby local VW dealers this afternoon to enquire further. Sadly their demo still hasn't arrived frown

Asked about timescales and was told that an order for a decent spec car, placed before the end of this week, would have an estimated delivery date around late July / early August '18 - so at least 5 to 6 months frown - In that case you might as well just wait and push registration until September so it's on a 68 plate.

VW have either vastly underestimated the demand Europe wide or the factory they'll be built at isn't setup for the demand? Maybe a combination of both?

Always seems to be the case when VW launch a new "performance" model...

The lead time is a real disappointment. I was hoping to have mine by for early summer, but as it is I think I’ll be looking at a September collection, so six and a half months. I’ve heard of dealers being given very limited built slots, for instance the largest VW dealer in Scotland got six cars to sell. Obviously there is going to be worldwide demand for the car, not just from the UK, but I can only think that the Bratislava plant can’t churn them out fast enough. It is currently responsible for assembling the Audi Q7 and Porsche Cayenne, so perhaps they spend longer on the line than an average Golf does at Wolfsburg.

Just get an ex demo in 3-4 months then... I bet by July there will be floods of Up GTI’s on Autotrader.

I've got a 5 door on order in Tungsten silver.

Ordered two Mondays ago, was told expected delivery date was end of May. But realistically expect it early part of July.

Just can't decide whether to spec change it now and get climate control or leave it without.

I’m going with climate. Realistically it doesn’t need it, but the dash looks miles better.

The wait is nothing more than a minor irritation, I’m fine with it and I don’t need the car any quicker anyway.

Same here. I’ve been told WLTP testing is playing havoc with VWs production facilities.
