So, here is something that I don't think has a current thread on it.

Do you have a list of cars that you hate, for pretty miniscule reasons?

Here's mine:

The Fiat 500, particularly the "Pop" (base model). I think it is overpriced, overplayed, and in the wrong spec pretty darn ugly! I've never liked them but I think my irrational hatred has stemmed from my sister buying a red base model. I hate red on and in cars, and don't understand why anyone would buy a base model of any car (if you can't afford it go a segment lower if buy nearly new). Thus I've just come to hate every 500. I love the Abarth though, as it is completely different to a normal Fiat.

Any MPV. I just don't understand them. You sacrifice looks, driving, economy (sometimes) for what? "Practicality"? An estate or SUV does the exact same purpose as an MPV but on the whole looks better, drives better (depends on SUV) and quite a few have surprisingly good economy for their size. I never always used to hate MPVs, I just saw them as "another car" until recently. I think my hatred has come from my dad owning a 2006 Citroen Xsara Picasso for 7 years, the 7 years where I properly started learning about cars rather than just liking them.

Very understandable choice, I expect many will agree with you. I personally don't find them that bad, although I've never driven one.

Agree with Fiat 500 and Nissan Juke

Also Vauxhall Astra and Corsa, especially previous gen for both. A few had corsas at school and I wanted to nuke them. Why would you get that big pile of dog st over the better fiesta?

re mpv;

I find that my mother prefers to drive a 2AT over the equivalent 3 series estate because it means she's taller off the ground and can see far better, but at the same time is cheaper to purchase than the SUV equivalent X1.

I don't hate any car, especially if I've never driven or even been in one.

I might take an instant dislike to the way one is being driven.

Skylines and Supras. I read about them and give proper owners the chance to argue their case but it's just the fast and furious fad that was big when i was getting into cars has forever stained their appeal to me, yes they have a great straight 6 engine, the skyline was the tip top of an era and leveled so many other amazing cars, the supra is supposed to be amazing jap GT'ing but i just can't get above my petty dislike and now looking for a memorable special car all i seem to get is "Skyline or Supra you can TOON them m8" when i don't want to mess with something that has to be a b road blaster.

Also, this is a full on joke and im not meaning to upset anyone beyond slightly bad humor that man kind of feeling. Paul Walker was a better mixed grill than memorable actor and all stickers of "Do not cry...am smiling" are cringe worthy in the maximum and sum up why i dislike the two cars so much.

Edit: Juke is just a no brainer.

Got to be the Juke for me to. It's one ugly mother f***er of a car and consistently seems to be number 1 in the ugly looks contest.

I've grown to like those 500's. They still resemble the original lineage unlike those bloated bmw mini's. Some of which remind me of a Star Wars storm troopers helmet!

The 500 crossover thing is ugly to and bears no resemblance to the original 500.

Still, if it's cheap......

I quite like the Juke.

I hate the re-born Mini and Fiat 500. Pure badge engineering and charmless to boot.

Why would you hate MPVs? I don't understand that. They are more practical than an equivalent SUV for carrying people, and that's what you are buying them for. I wish people would just accept they need an MPV rather than buying yet another ugly oversized SUV.

Not falling into a pile of rust after a couple of years is one good reason.

At that age the priority is insurance - if one car works out much cheaper to insure than the other, that's all the reason you need. I'm not entirely sure what's so much better about the Fiesta anyway

Anything by Porsche. I'm not really sure why.

For me, it's any SUV. I've corrected your post to explain my own reasons:

"I just don't understand them. You sacrifice looks, driving, economy for what? "Practicality"? An estate does the exact same purpose as an SUV but on the whole looks better, drives better and quite a few have surprisingly good economy for their size."

Hence, the ultimate irrational hatred of mine:

Porsche Cayenne.

Why buy?

Any VAG car, can't really explain why, maybe because of their souless (to me) character and the fact they're so clinically designed and the way you can see which market segment they're going for

Audi - Top
VW - Poor mans Audi
SEAT - Poor mans VW
Skoda - Poor mans SEAT/taxi drivers only

I hated the Nissan Juke too until I drove one. Little DIG-T 1.2 was actually quite a blast to drive....

..I really hate all these Mini derivatives....massive car with so little space inside, one of the most poorly packaged cars out there...

..Mercedes GLE/GLS...... ridiculously oversized vehicle that is frequently seen 1-up. Why does anyone need such a huge car? An ego machine for people with inflated egos.

Ditto BMW X6....ugly, horrible vehicle that is almost always driven by some aggressive idiot intent on bullying their way past other traffic. This is not stereotyping btw, I have yet to come across an X6 driven in a considerate manner.

..Thanks OP for allowing me to get that off my chest!!!
