335i - too poor to afford a M3 and has a chronic fear of that thing that makes the orange lights flash.

I think unless you have something that is obviously:
- A shed (=poor and undesirable to invite for dinner)
- A sports car - not a saloon based coupe (=flash and egotistical)
- A classic (=old man)
- A Range Rover (=specific identifier of social position)

90% of people read nothing into a car whatsoever. A newish Leon estate is the same as a newish M5 saloon. People spend far too much time worrying about this on PH I think.

Riced out RX8 R3.

All the kids absolutely love it!

Adults however probably think, "look at that idiot driving his Fast and Furious toy car, what a tt".

I have a silver AMG. Quite flashy and a bit of a show-offs car...in some ways I would like to replace it with a W124 but I haven't been able to find the perfect spec/condition example and to be honest I do prefer driving newer cars day-to-day.

2005 Nissan X Trail. Practical person with a bit of common sense, knows little about cars.

2017 Mercedes E63 with Night pack i.e black tints and wheels. Probably dripped up/stolen, knows little about cars.

1989 Mercedes 190E 2.5-16. Slowly getting it how I want it. May actually know something about cars and actually like them...

Five series M sport Touring with very dark rear windows and 19" CSL style wheels (I bought it like that honest, not many 530i's to chose from)

Drug dealer?
Perhaps undercover police drug dealer?
Yes, more likely, you would think any vaguely successful dealer would stay more under the radar, the car was origanally owned by a university lecturer/prof.
A Chemistry Professor?

I'm only really seeing some well humoured self deprecating comments. Not really a sign that anyone's genuinely worried about it.

Citroen C4: waiting to be declared clinically dead. So is the car. I used to have some retiree neighbours, they had a Citroen courtesy car parked in their drive more often than their C4 catsarse.

Leased 2017 Leon Cupra;

- I cant afford an Audi or VW lease
- I cant afford to buy a car outright
- I don't want 4wd
- I like dull but good quality interiors
- I'm not flash
- Something financially bad must have happened to me as I used to have an F10 M5. God knows what "they" will say if I get an Up! GTI next.
