Go for a 172 cup if you are just using it as a fun car. You'll never want to sell it if you find a good one. biggrin
Would be my only car, i'm afraid. So, I would probably go for a non-Cup 172/182 and have all the toys that comes with them.

It'll make my commute a bit more bearable. It's the stiff clutch that i'm more worried about biggrin

How much difference we talking fuel wise between the Clio and the Meg? I've always noticed many saying how frugal the 172's/182's are yet the 250's are more susceptible to a drink.
Over the 5 years I owned a Clio 182 it averaged about 24mpg on my commute to work. The Megane manages 29mpg.

On track the Meg definitely drinks more, but that's a given
That's quite low for the Clio, but is suppose it all depends on how you're driving it, using and your general commute/driving style. It is an old engine now, in all fairness.

Obviously, the Megane is more modern, turbocharged and should be good when not thrashing it but, when you do, i can imagine that all that hard work would plummet.

I suppose you don't really buy these cars for their MPG capabilities though!

how come you've got rid of the cups turinis ?
They were in terrible condition. Tyres are cheaper for 15s and I love the Williams wheels. They just seem to keep increasing in value too!

Thing is that all it needs is RBF600, PF pads and some semis to make it a track ready car.. You ll need to be upgrading to 18' too IMO.
I doubt it will ever go near a track to be honest. Got other cars for that. I just can't resist a tinker. Removing the middle silencer has improved it a bit. It sounds like a hot hatch should now, rather than like a vacuum cleaner. 18s and a slight drop might occur, as I don't like the 19s and the standard ride height is a bit much.

Clutch is fine once you get used to it. I only ever notice it for about half a mile after driving a different car.

You have made an error in relation to R26. It was not made to celebrate Renault’s F1 Championship in 2005, but the 2006 championship in which the Renault F1 chassis’s was known as an R26. If you perform more research you will find the Original F1 team did not have the R26 title and was not Victory Yellow but Alpine Blue. The colour was used only for the F1 Team that year and then retired. Also the R26 has a limited slip differential which the original F1 Team lacked.
