The Focus ST3 we have is absolutely dire on mpg. Worse than my V8 M3. I think it's currently on 21mpg at the moment. It gets around 30mpg at 70mph.

What's the real life mpg like on these cars? Could they be used as a daily driver and achieve 40mpg+?
It's easy to achieve 40+mpg on a sensible speed run. I got 44mpg on a trip from Bristol to Milton Keynes recently with my stage 2 car. Others regularly get more. Shorter/stop-start/spirited journeys it's obviously less.

Just traded in my Ford Kuga for a white 2017 ST. Pick it up on Wednesday :-)

Easy if your commute is 20 miles of empty motorway but if it’s in any way, short, busy or on B roads then it’s 25-30 MPG at most. Not too bad I suppose for 180/200 BHP. It certainly does better than the 1.5 Evo 150 engine we have in a VW T-Roc which is doing 33 average at the moment.

I get around 35-37MPG in my 182 Focus on average. On a highs peed run from Scotland to Silverstone last July I averaged 44.35MPG according to Fuelio. Would have been more if we didn't leave two hours late! Average since November 2016 is 36.28. I don't do a major amount of in town driving though and work is as good as a straight run from my house and takes about 7 minutes.

I drive on short journeys, i use w.o.t a LOT, and i get 33mpg calculated brim to brim, thats with the mountune 215kit on aswell. I got 45mpg on the motorway before after just picking it up? Stuck to 65/70 all the way though.

For anyone doubting theft rates, go back onto stolen cars midlands facebook and in the last 2 days alone 4 have been stolen, and thats just the ones published so dont tell me therez not a huge problem.
There's no doubt there. They are clearly being sought after to be pinched as it appear to be not very difficult to do so.

However, all i'm getting at is that it'll always look worse than it its on those pages, when most of them that are being stolen are being placed on a big list for everyone to see.

I'd personally be more worried about owning a Golf R than a Fiesta ST.
And that explains why insurance in the midlands on the car is 4 times what i pay now and im hardly in a fancy area?

And also explains why greenlight insurance refuse to touch a fiesta st unless a disklok is used at all times?
Respectfully, the Midlands is a high-risk postcode and has been for some time. Insurance has always been fairly high in that area.

Story of my life mate. I live in Manchester, which is also high-risk, but the Fiesta ST is actually one of the cheapest cars for me to get insured on right now. I'm getting quotes of around £600 for the year.

As a comparison, my current 1.4 B9 Audi A4 is about 900 quid!

Has anyone had a pre and post 2015 model with the supposedly better/softer suspension set up, does it make much of a difference and is it worth going for a later model therefore?

Cheers
