It looks like an up to date RX7 but does have an Alfa 4C side profile look.

I can't work out in my head how it manages 3.8 0-62 with 340bhp and almost 1500kg must have an amazing launch control.
I was wondering that as well.

These are just more drawings! Not the actual car!

Lets wait and see how good it looks!

Yes, you are right. Wait for actual pictures, i'm sure this is going to be a beautiful one. Toyota has made GT86 and Lexus LC/RC which are good looking cars, so i have a high hopes for this.

Edit: I'm not totally sold for driveline tho. I don't like bmw engines that much and my sports car needs to be a manual one.

I'm a bit sceptical about those acceleration figures.

Just to use an example here, a Golf R with 300bhp does 0-60 in about 5 seconds. This new car has only 40bhp more, weighs more than a Golf R, but apparently does the 60 sprint a second quicker? rolleyes

I'm just not quite sure about that!

This definetly doesn't weight more than golf r....

Edit: Actually old model was faster than golf r too. Golf R manual was tested 0-60mph in 5.2 sec, old Supra was 4.6s.

Sure about that?

Golf R: https://www.parkers.co.uk/volkswagen/golf/r-2014/2...
- 1361kg (assuming dry weight)

New Supra:
- "...with a supposed weight of 1,496kg..."

Car Magazine reckons 1483kg. Car and driver (even if we hit the max weight) comes in at 1553kg. Not quite sure which source to believe to be fair, but even if we err of the heavier side of all 3 figures, the Golf R still comes up either a little less that the Supra or maybe a little more.

I'm just not convinced by the figures...

When I look at how much more power hot hatches, German fast saloons and Ferrari's now have compared to their 90's models, I can't help but think this Supra needs another 150bhp (or a 200kg+ diet).
Well that didn't take long hehe

Ah, the Pistonheads Mantra; won't even test drive it if it'd lose a game of Top Trumps.

I'm a fan, 0-60 time is dubious (similar power/weight as an E46 M3 which does it in over a second more). Have gearboxes really come on that far? Hmmmm

All cars are heavier that manufacturers quote. Either go on solely manufacturer figures OR a common actual source.

My Alfa is quoted as 1524kg but in reality weighs c100kgs more. (incidentally, being a similar claimed weight, it has 200bhp more and still 'only' manages 0-62 in 3.9secs.)

Yeah this bit has to be a mis-type: "Supra will make use of a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder engine, putting out 340hp at 5,500rpm and 332lb ft to propel the car from 0-62mph in just 3.8 seconds."

They can both be right, because DSG brings 40kilos more. And remember, Supra weight could be a with driver like old one was. Ok, it is skinny japanese dude (like 60kg) and not a fat westerner but still. MK4 is lighter than official weight because of that.

All smells a bit sushi.....ill stick with my1,500kg wagon on similar bhp.

Like the nod to the RX7. I very much doubt it will end up looking like the max power drawings leaked. One thing i do know, it won't be aimed at the German dominated UK market, so i very much doubt that people's opinions on PH will count for much!laugh

I would suggest the output will be closer to 400bhp which coupled with a auto box will get to the figures they are proposing.

Put a Golf R (fairly full tank of fuel) on the scales at the scrutineering bay at Snetterton and it tipped in just over my Legacy. Don't remember the exact weight (or if it was a 3 or 5 door) but my car was 1530Kg.
