The problem is mate already got the map on it which pushes it up to 190bhp but that's it for the turbo got bigger injectors different manifold front mount intercooler but them mods won't make any difference without upgrading the turbo
In that case you have to consider, is a cheaper turbo really cheaper if it possibly has half the lifespan of a branded turbo? If you intend on keeping the car for a long time, I'd say spend the money required to do so. Upmarket turbos are pricier for a reason. You should check out the Boosted Boiz on youtube. They've got a 700whp Civic, I believe they're running a built H22, with an ebay special turbo on it. It's been running solid for about a year and a half now.
Before I saw how well theirs went, I wouldn't have touched one, but now I probably would for a cheap build. They've got a boosted MR2 with a K series in it, I think, and a boosted minivan pushing like 700hp too. Not sure if the last two are also running ebay turbos, but I'd suspect they are.

it is a couple of fans in a housing spun by exhaust gas to drag more air in,
is it now? I'd suggest that a precision toleranced object spinning at over 150,000 times per minute in a stream of gas at nearly 1000 degrees centigrade on one end, and >150 degC on the other end, supported by a complex hydrodynamic bearing system that attempts to keep tiny clearances between moving parts that are passing each other in excess of the speed of sound is a little bit more than that..........

I think somethings don't go cheap on. A few cheers back I bought a turbo off Ebay. When going to fit it it had all these carbons bits inside it,, that if I plumbed in would have messed my engine up. That wasn't even a Chinese special.

Except that car has been through at least 3 engines, countless gearboxes. And that turbo wont boost anymore than 30psi, another car that was on the channel they disconnected all boost control and welded the wastegate shut. 30psi is all the chinese turbo would blow. Kinugawa is no better. No one touches them on Evos, they go bang over 1bar boost and are known for it. Theres not a single Evo in the country that runs one as a result. Extra power is expensive, don't expect it to be as simple as bolting the new turbo on. You say you haven't got £700 to spunk on a new turbo, if you buy one of these china ling long specials. Still got to pay few hundred for the car to mapped correctlyBefore I saw how well theirs went, I wouldn't have touched one, but now I probably would for a cheap build.
