That's a badass ride, right there. cool

Not many cars can pull off the "flames up the side" look. The fact this El Camino can, speaks volumes. thumbup

SON!
Thanks very much for that. Can you drop it round at the weekend? Just so you know I've moved house and also changed my face. But it's definitely me, your old pa. Good on you, you're a good lad whatever your name is.

Your dad says he didn’t want it and that you’re fine to just give it to me instead.

You guys made my day! It's a '72. I wrote a whole story about the build I'd show you, but it's on another forum and I don't want to get the boot!

650bhp? Painted in your garage?

Yeah, I think we'll need more pictures! A lot more pictures! That looks awesome.

Curious how you knew about the horsepower and where I painted it?

Sounds like a big block to me, 454 ?

Not a great fan of the single headlight, had a twin back in the day , but that looks Epic.

No substitute for cubic inches cool

One of the best sounding cars I've ever heard is an El Camino with glass packs. Fabulous OP !

This was a bottom to the top garage build. Took me a little over four years and a few thousand hours of labor. Motor is a .060 over 454 with AFR 335 heads, Dart intake, Isky roller cam (256/266@.050, .700" lift), Art Carr reverse manual valve body TH400 w/3800 rpm converter, 4:11 gears and 30" drag radials. Exhaust is dual 3" with 40 series Flowmasters. It's a freakin' brute!! I stripped EVERY panel to bare metal and after countless hours blocking, painted it in my garage in a homemade "paint booth." Dad turned 79 today and he still acts like the "World's Oldest 15 Year Old!"
