I don't think PH says this is crap?
Now the car I drive is crap... 1.25 fiesta mk6. Very slow, too heavy and thus it's thirsty for the size of car
Love/hate relationship
nothing crap about that either. it's not all about speed. the fiesta is still the best handling car in it's class. now if you said a corsa on the other hand...Now the car I drive is crap... 1.25 fiesta mk6. Very slow, too heavy and thus it's thirsty for the size of car

I bought an Alfa Romeo 147 1.6 twin spark a few years back. Everyone slated it, saying "you'll have nothing but problems with that", "it'll rot because it's an Alfa", "parts are expensive" etc etc.
Truth be told it was one of the most reliable cars I'd ever owned and very cheap to run too. The twin spark engine was amazing! Sounded very Italian and loved to be revved. The handling was very nimble and sharp (I'd go as far to say better than a mk1 focus.)
I put approximately 60k on it and apart from servicing, cam belt and variator, it was a cheap, fun little car to own (with no rust)

I fall into this category
Im knocking on a bit compared to most on here
I have almost paid for my house kids grown up and left home. I am alright for money with a good income but
I wont borrow or lease and if worse when I got some cash I wont spend it if I can help
I have always been in business and have seen good and bad so always have this fear of the unknown this makes me be as safe as possible
I have Y reg toyots previa with nearly 300 k on the clock and it never lets me down
I have a 1995 Saab 900 convertible but only drive it on Sundays.
I love cars but wont spend any money but this year I do intend to spend to spend a couple of grand on an older big engine E Class

Rover 75 alert.
2001, underpowered 2.0Kv6 engine, small wheels, squidgy tyres... Not very PH. However it’s probably one of the better examples out there having spent a fair amount to make it drive like a brand new car (it wasn’t exactly bad when I bought it, just a couple of rough edges). Oh, and it sounds fab.

We've owned a Jazz for the past 5 years, it's a great little car.
I've got one too.The most undemanding car to drive and own I've ever had and like the Honda advert says - isn't it nice when everything just works .The Jazz is perfect proof if ever it were needed that cars make excellent servants but terrible masters.
I have a ratty pug 307 cc. Including purchase price and all repairs and upgrades it owes me around £230
It makes me smile every time I drive it, it reminds me of driving a calibra in the 90s, except it handles and rides pretty well. When the sun comes out and I get the roof down the kids absolutely love it, they want any excuse to go out in the thing. It really loves to be revved, i think that engine in the lighter gti would be a proper laugh.
Touch wood nothing new has went wrong with it in the last year, only the original faults remain.

I drive a 2002 147, and its been great so far. It is starting to feel a bit tired and doesnt like the cold, but who does?Truth be told it was one of the most reliable cars I'd ever owned and very cheap to run too. The 147 is just old enough to be seen as "old", has the alfa stigma of rust and unreliability, an oil drinking, low power 1.6, with too much weight to be fast, alfa purists will scoff "rebadged fiat" at you while driving away in their old transaxles. The PH masses will deride it for not doing 0-60 sub 6 seconds and being WWD.
But i love it, and i couldnt see myself replacing my 147 with something non 147-ish (as in, a GT or a 156 might work as well)

I’ve got a current M4. Apparently it’s not a proper M car, as it's got a turbo. In 5years the same people will be raving on about it, whilst slating the then current M4. Rinse and repeat ad infinitum
So true Just like what happened with the e90/e92 M3
I've got a yellow Chevrolet Matiz! Now that's a 5hit car!

Okay I am probably going to fall on my sword and this may be the worst karma thread ever.
I have a 2007 ML and yes I love it.
I don't even know why I love it so much? I have an irrational love of the runt of the litter and every time I have a few cars I always fall in love with the shed.
Does anyone else love the runt of their litter?
