The constant barrage of old models with new lipstick and a higher price every few weeks is starting to get old.

McLaren need to take a breather. Their sales growth has crashed to a halt and they're not gonna solve it by bugging everyone with a minor new model every couple of weeks.

The "something special" will be the GTE.

Failing that, it'll be that "totally not operation youtree" bloke from the CBBC pushing some kid with rickets into the passenger seat whilst playing with his spotty bag.

Super / hyper car maker production runs are formatted thusly:

Produce car
Produce carbon bodied special edition
Repeat ad infinitum

No doubt the carbon fibre worshipers will jizz themselves with giddy anticipation here, but the car remains a dog (albeit a slightly more colourful now and utterly function-over-form dog).
We get it, you care more about styling than about driving.

Lots of enthusiasts care more about diving than styling.
I care about both to varying degrees depending on application - I get that the Senna is a super dooper hyper performance track based road going slippery death machine and all that, but it doesn't stir much for me personally. Plus let's face it, of the number of units produced, the majority will no doubt go into enthusiast collections where they will rack up tens of miles in the next few decades; objectively negating the need for such dramatic styling.

P.s. what's diving got to do with anything?

Probably just me, but I find all the MSO stuff incredibly tacky.

I see they lost the glass in the lower part of the door. I thought there was a big reason (visibility) for having it on the 'standard' car - has that now been negated then?

Is it just me, or are green calipers a bit too much?
I think it’s been said that the lower door windows are optional. Not positive on that though.

You’re very easily annoyed/bugged aren’t you.
Can’t be good for your blood pressure.
For the good of your health I advise against clicking on any McLaren stories for a few months. You really don’t have to read them. It is a choice.
Take a breather.

It might be ugly, but it's keeping a lot of Brits employed and I expect it makes far better noises than most of the drivel on the roads.

Long live the McLaren Senna MP600-15L/MSOGTRRLMGTE or similar.

It's a road car with a track bias. Some people like listening to the radio smile

I'd say his posts are starting to get old but that'd be a lie. They got old a very long time ago.

You can put £300k lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig... Blimey, the base car hasn’t even been made yet and McLaren is tapping up owners for hundreds of thousands of pounds for extras. Wonderful.

I think this car in full racing spec could get closer to the Stefan Bellof record around the Nurburgring than any other road based car!

6:11 was set in 83 with the Porsche 956 - that car had 650 hp and weighed 800kg

More power, modern gearboxes, adaptive suspension (soft on bump bits, low on the straights etc), modern tyres and aerodynamics

Make a lap time on the Nordschleife which is corrected for Bellofs slightly shorted 12.9 miles lap, borrow Alonso for the stunt!!

That would really be a spectacle to warrant any price they ask for this machine.
