I'd rather have the ipace than the x but yeah I'm a Tesla fan boy....

Shame it's not a cheaper option.

Er, I am no Tesla Fanboy but how does the Jag out accelerate the Tesla Model X P100 with 400 bhp ? the Tesla has 720 bhp, it is heavier, by 367 kilos and though that is a fair amount of weight, as a percentage it doesnt make enough difference compared to another 320 bhp.

The Jag apparently does sixty in 4 to 4.5 seconds, the Tesla P100D drops under three, I know on paper vs on the road can be different things but the Jag pulling past the Tesla from a standstill doesnt seem plausible, being a second and a bit slower and 320 bhp down ?

Would like to see an independent test, much as I want to see Jaguar do well and the Jag is the much better looking, realistically it shouldn't be able to beat the P100D, and there is only half a car length difference between the 75 and 100 models ?

They didn't test it against a p100, just a 100d.

The p100d is heaps more money though so would be somewhat unfair.

Like testing a 530 BMW against an a6 sline then complaining about an m5 being quicker.

What's sad for me is they had to pick an ev at all to test against. There's masses of options.

This won't really compete against the x for sales

If Tesla tested the Jag (if it were available to test) against the P100 version equipped with stupid acceleration whatsit the jag wouldn't see which way it went.
Its a bit like Honda testing the CTR against a bog standard 1.6 focus and making a big deal out of it winning a drag race.
If you're not comparing like for like its pointless.
So why are you comparing a £60k Jag against a £130k Tesla? And one with 600bhp against a Jag with 400bhp? Sounds a pretty pointless statement to be honest.
You are actually agreeing with me. Both tests would be pointless.

Jag comparing their 4-5 seat Electric SUV against Tesla’s 7 seat people carrier is pointless regardless of which variety of each car you use.

Tesla comparing its £130k car against a £65k jag is pointless (and something they haven’t done)

Both tests prove absolutely nothing.

What make you think I was upset? I merely pointed out the test didn’t really prove anything.

In truth neither car really interests me. As I said in my original post I am much more excited about the affordable EVs coming in the near future.

I really like the idea of the Tesla model 3, but don’t think that it will be widely available, by the time I come to replace my C350e. I am pinning my hopes on the VW groups forthcoming offerings.

Terrific news if true! Someone at JLR deserves a big bonus for brokering that deal.
