It's an 800bhp saloon. Of course it's a yes.

You don't have to have the looks as that is customisable and personal preference. And if you think that is poor value for money, then you're not in the target demographic. Brabus have survived this long as they DO have enough customers that this kind thing appeals to and will pay for it. I'm pretty sure most of us here aren't in the same financial bracket as those customers.

Mental. Seriously tempted despite the interior looking like Michael Jackson's jacket.

I'd always imagined its a bit of a loss-leader. The cost of producing designer clothing for a cat walk at something like London fashion week is far higher than the income from selling those outfits. But the money is to be made from selling much cheaper (and more normal) clothing, handbags and perfume. Brabus will happily sell you go-faster, or look-better, parts for your C200 and people buy them because they are Brabus who make 800bhp saloons.

Hmm, that is probably true.

The E63S ECU has not yet been cracked by anybody. MB will have made it available to Brabus to create this car.

The stand out feature re Brabus stuff vs third party tuners is that it maintains warranty and can indeed be supplied and serviced by MB dealers.
RennTech offer 773PS for the E63S, which I assume they do by remapping. Unless anyone knows different?
I may be wrong but I wonder if that is achieved via a piggy back solution rather than an ecu crack remap.

Only say that because a) none of the other usual places are able to provide a map and b) I can’t see anything in the blurb which points to a removal of the limiter

May well be wrong though as I say
RennTech have indeed mapped the ECU, as have Weistec and probably a few more though they're none of them particularly affordable at the moment as they all involve having to send the ECU to the US.

I also know that GAD in Germany were looking for solutions but had a few expensive failures, as did a Russian tuner.

I'm going to wait for a while as I was a guinea pig on the M157, so I'm going to let someone else play with the new one first as I'm sure I can cope with what it currently puts out. smile

Hello Dave

I didn’t realise that m, have been struggling to find any concrete info at all

Not keen to send the ecu off anywhere

Agree with you that the standard power is not exactly lacking, am most interested in Getting the limiter removed for VMAX and am trying to find out if Merc will retrospectively apply the raised limiter which I am sure can only be a simple software flash

I had to with my previous one when nobody could get into the ECUs at the time (early 2014). It took weeks to get it back from Weistec and I was running about with a clone in it (which I had to buy from MB and get programmed to the car). frown

I have someone who may be able to sort the limiter out, it's the torque curve he's struggling with at the moment apparently. Mine has the 300kph limiter so not as painful but still frustrating at a V Max type event...

Performance sounds epic and I don't mind the exterior. Interior is a bit Pimp my Ride UK but it's that big B on the front that looks like something off eBay!!

I ended up going the Brabus route as wanted full warranty and dealer support.

Had the 700 kit supplied and fitted by my original dealer.

It’s very very fast.

Noticeably quicker in the mid range.

Doesn’t seem to be lumpy in any way, and just makes me feel a little better knowing it is all fully MB backed.

Not that these things really matter but it is now recording gps 0-62 regularly in the high 3.1s versus 3.5 previously.

Haven’t been daft enough to test the limiter but have an autobahn run in June.

In short makes an already very enjoyable car just a little bit more so.

Feels as quick albeit in a different way.

In anything other than near perfect conditions or a track I would say definitely yes. Certainly much easier.

I love it. Best Merc I have had to date.
