RE: Alfa Romeo 164 Cloverleaf: Spotted
Discussion
Much as I like these I wouldn't spend that much on one! and IMHO the 166 looked so much better.
Anyway, back in the day I always preferred the Lancia Thema Turbo - I mean it's practically an Integrale engine in a suit! But I doubt you'd be able to find one now.
But it's good to see a healthy one is still around.

Was given a 164 as a courtesy car from the local Alfa specialist when my spider went in for some work , did wonder how it got us from A to B every light used to stay on on that dash as you drove it and there was plenty of them, it was in Alfa Red, got a bit attached to it really.
Wasn’t a garage in NW London was it?Jual Mass Flywheel said:
We're those wheels a genuine Alfa option? If not, that car seems even more overpriced. Jual Mass Flywheel said:
Dad ran one or two of these whilst selling Alfas in Nottingham in the late 80s early 90s for Gordon Lamb. These along with the 75s (TS and V6) hold fond memories for me. 13K a lot but as said to the person wanting the best, is there a better on e out there?
My Dad had one also whilst working for Gordon Lamb in Chesterfield!! He shared it with a colleague along with a Celica GT4. The Celica was forever breaking down but the Alfa was fine, not the usual way things go!!Also had a 75 v6 in weather similar to this week. Bit of a handful apparently!!
Love these, remember my Dad having a 3.0 V6 in the very early nineties, black over grey with Zender 5 spokes and a wooden Momo wheel. Best electrical gremlin was the electric seat adjustment sticking in Dads position whilst driving back from Southern France (note Dad 6'2" Mum about 5'1" !) Advice from the Alfa dealer on return was 'hit the motor with a screwdriver', seem to recall he kept a screwdriver in the glovebox after that.
Would love this to bring back some happy memories, just need to source a wooden Momo wheel though

Always loved the Cloverleaf but my Lord, that bodykit is horrendously aftermarket and that is the reason I'd rather have a non Cloverleaf. I used to see a Q4 version near Enfield many moons ago in dark metallic red.

I think the posts saying 'it's overpriced' etc may well be confusing this rare beastie with the, also rare, 164 Cloverleaf in its standard form.
These Q4 versions pop up so so rarely that the price is really dictated on availability.
The one in the column is a standard 24V Cloverleaf. The Q4 was LHD only and 4WD.These Q4 versions pop up so so rarely that the price is really dictated on availability.

According to the article it's a Q4...................so someone or something is wrong.viggyp said:
Unless I'm completely blind or the page hasn't loaded properly (at work now ), all I can see is it stated as a QV. Usually QV is shortened for Quadrifoglio Verde which translated is "green cloverleaf".
My bad. I should learn to read. First day back at work after a week off and brain ain't functioning.I will retract my earlier statement and say that yes, £13k for a 164 QV is a lot.

Loved mine, a late 1994 'L' 3.0 24v Lusso in black with a catback Supersprint on it. The Busso is a glorious engine, and would lift up it's skirts like a somewhat vexatious maiden aunt when provoked. In true Alfa style though, it got a bit hot under the collar, burst the heater matrix, and dumped boiling coolant frying the electrics. The irony, I was jump starting and Alfa GTV at the time
