Give me the Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro any day.
Money is it will be faster too. All without looking like it's been pre-crashed.
And so the Valkyrie AMR should be... it's 3 x the price!!! So it better be. Money is it will be faster too. All without looking like it's been pre-crashed.
McLaren aren't claiming the Senna GTR will be thee fastest thing out there. Just the fastest McLaren.
A 5 year old can see the Valkyrie has been designed from the ground up to have the level of aero it does. This mess is just an even larger diffuser and splitter bolted onto a car that already had larger front/rear overhangs/wing/splitter etc bolted on to 720S.
McLaren had nothing on the table when the next gen Aston and Merc hyper cars were announced and rather than being mature and concentrating on the product they have (like Ferrari etc) they panicked and made the Senna monstrosity. It screams insecurity that they can't stay out of every pissing contest. Still, a Chinese billionaire created every five days so any old tat will get bought if it's expensive enough.
Interesting the you lay that out as facts when actually it’s nothing more than presumption.
There’s room for everything. Those same Chinese billionaires and others will be buying the Valkyrie, Project One, Pista and whatever else comes along.
I'm intrigued by the side exhaust...
Maybe my more enlightened brethren can help to explain; I was just wondering why they are so low?
I thought the typical McLaren exhaust outlet exited behind the engine in the rear.
In the "street" senna, the exhaust is touted as some sort of aid to the downforce by expelling upwardly onto the wing.
According to McLaren:
"Slash-cut exhausts help avoid disturbance of airflow around the wing and rear diffuser."
"The slash-cut exhausts make a similar airflow contribution, negating any disturbance to the rear wing or rear diffuser."
On this car they seem to be exiting through a vent/channel directly above the diffuser...
I was just wondering the significance if any...
Then I looked at an engine.. the lower side may be the original location of the exhaust outlet?
I think they deleted the cats and piping to save weight, but I guess it possibly negates the aero "advantage" they provided in the street car.
Am I missing something?

The fact that everything about the Senna is a marketing exercise and all the talk of 'functional this' and 'functional that' is all just a way to sell the car? And the fact that everything about it is styled and has nothing to do with Aero? And that they got it so horribly wrong that loads of the original 'favoured' customers cancelled their allocations?Am I missing something?

They make a track car, and make a track version of the track car
See my comment above They make a track-oriented road car, then a track version.

Interesting that you dismiss his theory (which does kinda make sense) You don't need to defend McLaren unless you work for them Interesting the you lay that out as facts when actually it’s nothing more than presumption.

Managed to find something I like on GTR.
Rear spoiler is more towards the back of the car now. Looks better balanced for it (if you ignore the turtles head diffuser )
Fix 1 thing, make 10 things worse.
