It's quite a good looking thing apart from the awful bumpers front and rear and the pre-dented doors.

Another overstyled mess of a BMW.

I sometimes wonder when people come up with these comments (this car looks like another car) whether you just pluck any random car out of your imagination.

My bet is that he'll have seen it posted somewhere by someone who thinks they are clever and insightful on social media, and simply repeated it in an attempt to be be clever and insightful.

i don't think there is a need for a sarcastic personal attack. Perhaps, maybe, he just thought it looks a bit like a stinger?
Certainly when I first saw it I thought from certain angles the rear quarter panels have a stinger esque quality.

I think it looks great but looking forward to seeing the Coupe. It looks a lot more like a production car than the first 8 series concept. Hopefully the production car will be very similar.

Are you guys blind?

Rear lights extend round on the BMW, not on the Kia, the rear bumper is a totally different design. Boot lid and spoiler shape also completely different.

Are you meaning the absolute basic details such as "they both have 4 exhausts", "they both have little vents by the front wheel arch" (despite being a totally different shape) "they both have 4 wheels" (despite being a totally different design), "they both have details/creases at the bottom of the doors" despite being different by design too. Or there's the completely different design at the rear 3/4 between the rear-most section of the rear window and the roof, which is seamless with the BMW and is broken up by a separate piece on the Kia.....So many differences I cannot believe you even compare them.

Genuine question, because as soon as you look at any sort of detail in the design there really isn't any similarity at all.

And Ford Mondeo....are you fking for real?! rofl They look nothing alike at all!!!!!

Agreed. I just thought there were quite a few similarities (which is no bad thing), specifically from the side profile. The only thing I can assume is those that took umbrage don't agree which is fair enough or they're badge snobs who think it's terrible that someone likens a Kia to a prestige German brand that they have to resort to such replies.

I'm a little disappointed to be honest as I had high expectations for this car.

In my eyes, it looks too tall and absolutely enormous. Was hoping for something more sleek with a lower roof line.

My response wasn't because I'm upset or whatever about someone likening BMW to Kia, it's purely the fact that they really have no similar details. PERHAPS the overall profile may be similar..... But how many overall profiles can you make for a 4 door car with a coupe-esque shape. See my pictures posted above..... First thing that strikes you are the rear lights are COMPLETELY different.

I wasn't convinced until these pictures... There is familiarity between the two pictures. The window lines are similar, the wheel vents front and back similarly shaped, the sloping of the rear quarter panel (like an Audi A7), the ducktail to upturned boot in the middle for the Kia - there is a familiarity to my eyes. And yes the exhaust location and choice of door crease is similar too.

I understand they are different, and have more differences than similarities, but the similarities are distinct design features.

I prefer the Kia, but I like an Audi A6, so less design is better in my eyes. The BMW design language is too much for me.
Careful, you'll upset some on here.
There was a familiarity to my eyes too. I prefer the Kia too.

What a mess, the amg gt is a better looking car, this looks like the hulks dick

Are those kidney grills so big that it just sucks the cars in front into the engine instead of having to tailgate them?

Ha! That tickled me! I’d hoped for more on this to be fair. The e31 was a wonderful looking thing. Although you can’t blame them for making it fussy; how are you supposed to stand out these days, when all cars look the ruddy same.

Same with mountain bikes, 90% of them look identical. Small minor details differ, but once a formula is reached that is proven and works & people like it, why change.

Look at formula 1. Not many 6 wheelers there these days (speaking figuratively). They’re all the same, no wild designs that are mad compared with their rivals, grey days ahead. Bring back the Countach....

It's not based on the 6 series that's on an old platform.
