A V12 Ferrari costs more to run than a quick Golf?! Who knew?!

This forum. A load of people who will never buy car n complaining about how much car n costs to run.

Not necessarily; it can in fact suggest completely the opposite if it's been through the hands of several reputable dealers who each, on preparation, have ensured the vehicle is brought up to a high standard. Dismissing a vehicle on the basis of a number on a piece of paper would be foolish.

Strange that Pistonheads would choose to propagate a myth amongst a community of drivers that frequently change cars simply because they like trying different things.
An interesting converse argument, well put.

Does a golf r really do 0-62 in 4.2, thought they were nearer 5 seconds?!

Just prefer Ferrari’s earlier (456 and 550) and later work F12 and 812.
All relative though.

Think so, remember trying to find out whether my mate's R was quicker than my Dad's 335d xdrive.

I bought one about five years ago for under £50k with high 30's on the clock. I personally find them a great looking car, quite unique. And as for performance, it's quite a weapon and a fantastic GT car. Quite thirsty mind. And interior switches are fragile and expensive.
I sold after a couple of years and found myself in that rare and enviable position of the uplift paying for running a V12 Ferrari for two years.

Just sold my California to buy a dream 612. The V12 is quieter than anticipated (easily sorted with a sports exhaust). However the car is fantastic in every other respect, so much better than the newer Cali. The car feels more Ferrari where as the California felt more average, like a sporty mundane Jap car. I've loved the 612 since i first saw one in Ferrari factory way back in 2004. Finally realised my dream and loving the experience. Practical and special in one package.
