diy oil change is 30 quid, and clutch drag you would expect that priced into the price which i would say it isn't.

Looks in great condition but...

1. The clutch will put 99% of people off and they'll think there's a £400 bill just around the corner, plus it needs a service
2. Is there any service history?
3. Take personal items out of the car when taking pictures

Fellow bargain basement chaps, I’d love your thoughts.

I’ve been to see the following:

2000 ‘W’ Polo 6N2 1.4 (the beasty 59bhp model)
85,000 miles
Most of the paint missing on the bonnet (it’s red), but otherwise fairly tidy
Some service history but no evidence of a cambelt change

It’s £500 and has 11 months MOT.

I know nothing about this sort of car, normally going for things in warranty. Thoughts?

My brother just picked up an Almera Tino with 67k and 7 months mot 1.8 petrol for £250 notes, cheaper than a hire car while his crv is in for repair.

I’ve not seen it but he says it’s mint

I've left shed territory for a while (£1500 RX300).

My last shed lasted 2.5 years (with a bit of Trigger's brooming but not too much - enough to basically cover the cost of a new shed every year but at least I was aware of the issues instead of buying a new set of problems every year) but I felt it was on its way out as minor problems/niggles were adding up so decided to find another car. Unfortunately, I was unable to find a suitable shed replacement so I've spent over £3k on a warm hatch instead.

Agreed and I wouldn't want to buy a car from an outfit like that with UNRECORDED in the title.

£3-5k is probably not what I'd want to spend on a used diesel with no guarantees of it being any more reliable than a £1k shed. Given the sort of bills diesels can dish out at least if you only have a grand in it then you can walk away.

So, at 40k miles, "all tyres close to limit" not to mention the MOT failure....

Has it been used for drifting or something? tongue out

Hmmm...

It's also sold 4 times previously for over £6k if you look at the sellers completed listings.

I'm not saying it's a good car, but that MOT evidence, in itself, isn't damning.

A four year old car with 40k-odd on the clock showing worn tyres and brakes could suggest, pending have a look at the car itself, that those consumables are simply the car's originals.

The vendor having 'sold' it multiple times is more interesting hehe
