Even if I was in the market for a current model Mondeo putting 100% UNRECORDED NEVER DAMAGED would make me think the complete opposite and I'd steer clear.

It's got the look of a car that's been repaired but the sills or chasis is borked. There is just something wrong somewhere and someone will learn an expensive lesson out of it.

If it drives alright at that money just buy it, it'll cost peanuts to run and parts are everywhere!

This, basically!

Either spend less on something like that, or get something nicer imo

I'd go for a Jazz for better space, no cambelt and more speed/economy from the 1.4, but Fiestas aren't a bad choice and are usually reliable with cheap parts so you could definitely do worse.

I had one as a loan car whilst my CRV was being fixed. Basic white one, 2002, I assume it was the 1.25 engine... only 50k miles on it and it was wonderful, lovely and smooth, engine started on the button, much better on fuel than I was used to as well! I was actually gutted to give it back by the end, I know it is a basic car, but it was a lot of fun, coming from bigger, heavier cars. So much so, that I am on the hunt for one now as a runaround to cut down on fuel costs, they seem reliable enough for a sub £1k car and they have a decent amount of space inside. As a commuter car, I think it'd be ideal.

I had a 51 reg 1.25 Fiesta Zetec, really enjoyed it (when it worked) - put a fair mileage on it (20k or so a year). Rust was overly terminal, the entire floor went, the sills had holes in it, the A post had holes in it.

Belt engine, only engine problem I had was one seal between block and water pump failing, but could still drive it, stopping to add water every 10 miles or so.
As before, it rusted. Like properly rusted.
The handbrake mechanism was good for adding weight low to the road and in the middle of the car for stability, not sure what else it did - it certainly did not do anything for stopping the car or keeping the car stopped.
Front brakes used to seize up frequently, complete callipers were not expensive.
Rear suspension components went with alarming regularity, and were the reason sometimes the steering wheel pointed to the right when going straight, sometimes to the left.
Engine was really revvy, definite power bands as the revs picked up, normal petrol the revs sort of died out at about 5.5k, v power it kept pulling all the way to 6.8k - often. Normal petrol you needed to keep it above 2k for any power, v-power you could drive it below 2k fairly well, but it just wanted to rev. No difference in economy, so most of the time I used normal petrol.
Small tank, so you get used to the station, it gets bad when you are filling up twice a day and pay the same cashier both times!
Simple to work on, and plenty of cars at the breakers for spares.
Exhaust was pricey and kept breaking though.
Seats could move a LONG way back! - good for tall people, bad for rear passengers.
I would say it was a "nippy" car, it is never going to break speed records, but it pulled itself around very happily, hammering up passes it lifted the inner front wheel for a bit of wheel spin fairly easily. Definitely faster than my Focus, and faster than my S-max.

At 950 ono you'd have to be silly not to, it's only the previous Astra and it has a lot of kit. Vauxhall badge or not this is a great buy.

"**FULLY LOADED**" love it.

Absolute base spec Astra. Not even got cruise control. And I seriously doubt it does have bluetooth, especially as there aren't any steering wheel controls...

It's also not an SRI!

I’d avoid that particular one but these are definitely coming down to shed money and have to be worth a bash. I saw a half decent Insignia for £1200 the other day, too

I’ve got one the same spec and it does indeed have bluetooth. Nothing else though laugh

Driver's seat looks like Monica Lewinsky's dress.

Re the Astra, base spec, some cosmetic body damage (dent n/s/r arch and scratches) and body fluid stained drivers seat but... very cheap runabout.
Buy that for £800, run it for a year, new mot and get your money back, likely a bit more if its valeted inside and paintwork polished up..

They seem too young to be that cheap! They seem younger than ten years old.

That does look like a usable car for that money. I’d say it probably has years of use in it. I’d pretty happily recommend that or a similar Focus to a friend who needed a car
