Fantastic! Looks like it's worth 10x that!
Thanks. To be honest it's come out pretty well in the photos. A closer look reveals it's got a fair few fings and scratches around. Not terrible though and quite presentable.

I nearly had a 'who do you think you are' moment - i looked at the plates and it's the Ford dealer where i used to work - AND i worked there at the time this was registered....i wondered...did i register this very car....and now all these years later...it's back with me....but no, this one was done at the other branch! D'oh!

Yeah, all. With some hub bashing and rocking back and forth I got it going. They're not in great condition now but not as bad as I feared...

But, £250 and now with a year's ticket....congratulations!
My 2014 Fiesta goes *clonk* when I reverse off the drive after a weekend of it sat not being used, when the pads release. It's also just gone through its local MOT equivalent with zero comments.

That Focus looks like value - I’ve just spent a month with one that cost £174 and was a fair bit more broken (although tested) https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Doesn’t make a bad shed at all although I struggle to get enthusiastic about them. Don’t know what it is about that era Ford that leaves me so cold - they’re not bad cars!

As said, it was the rear drum brakes that rust on, a couple of stops using the handbrake dries them out.

They just get the job done, without much extra or stress, hence a rather underwhelming drive.

Wow, what a bargain! And what a resolution! I'll be following your thread with interest!

Yeah the focus does seem good value. I went and looked at one but it hadn’t been serviced for quite a while c35k and there was a knocking coming from the back. Ended up going for £500 on eBay.

Like you I’m struggling to find anything sub £500!

Probably a better drive than a vw t5 as well as cheaper, can't go wrong after a good clean out
