I wonder what other miss information some instructors pass on to their students, worrying. Maybe explains why so many drivers in Aberdeen have absolutely no idea about box junctions, slip roads, and indicating on roundabouts.
The driving standard in Aberdeen is terrible. It really does stand out a mile.
Company cars! Nobody cares.

I remember, in my youth, side-swiping a car on a roundabout on North Anderson Drive. We were competing for the same bit of road space. We got out, looked at our respective damages - which were about the same - shook hands and went our separate ways!

Dare I say about 35 years ago, I was driving my company car up Wellington Road, it was heaving it down, and I was only wearing a shirt, no coat, stopped at the lights near Shell, and noticed a white van coming up behind quite quickly. He smashed into the back, denting the boot. I got out, in seconds I was soaked, he got out, first thing he said "The brakes dont work that good in the rain,", (No st sherlock), I said "Its a company car, are you bothered with swapping details because Ime not", he said no, so I carried on.

Told my manager at work I returned to my car in a car park in town, and someone had driven into me.

The company car world has changed.

Policies vary, but most of them now include a sizeable insurance excess that is directly recoverable from the employee, so even a "non-fault" / someone drove into it when it was parked, guv situation will cost you a considerable amount of money.

A copy of the BVRLA fair wear and tear guide is issued to all company car drivers where I work. The company car policy clearly states that any costs to rectify damage not covered by this guide when the car is returned will be directly recoverable from the employee.

Smashing up company cars isn't cheap any more.

8.25. Nice of him to laugh to himself, rather than actually check if the guy was OK.

IF dashcam man had left a reasonable gap........a dying art IMHO, then the beans would still be in the can

8:37 - nearly miss your roundabout exit trying to have a near accident for your camera footage.

Van driver is a cock for sure, but a driving instructor shouldn't react like this. Terrible behaviours to teach a pupil.

What is wrong with that? I have the sunroof open in my car most of the time. Do I need to go a confess on the Council thread?

The tractor driver coming the other way was prepared to risk losing his legs rather than slow down at all

Most of these Russian ones seem to be down to their domestic market cars, the old Lada Riva as it was known here and various other stuff I dont recognize, any kind of evasive maneuver is met with a massive tank slapper (pinching the bike phrase as not sure what the car equivalent is) and then a crash.

Am thinking if those cars had ESP they would have a lot less accidents ?

No, not at all.

It's a regular sight around Bradford. AMG/S-Line/Golf-R with four lads in and the sunroof open even when it's drizzling. It's to let the smell of cannabis out.

From my dashcam earlier. Only 8 seconds so not overly tedious.

Bit disappointed really, as this fella was driving like an absolute tool and I'd have had no problem submitting this to the police. But the video doesn't really show it.

20mph limit near my home, he was in a 5 series coming towards us. In the 6 or so years I've lived here, I haven't seen anyone come along the road as rapidly as he was. I'm guessing 3 to 4 times the limit when I first saw him in the distance.

Even as he braked at the junction in my rear view mirror I could see his hazards came on - a safety feature on the car I guess.

Utter idiot, cannot stand people like this, just wish the video was better.
