always a bmw, the tt ratio to norms is much higher in German premium brands..
There is just something about the perceived increase in social status, which when not acknowledged, or apparently disrespect by the general public, turns these people into absolute lunatics.
If I put together a compilation of all my dashcam footage, 90% of the bad aggressive driving would be German cars, with BMW and Audi right at the top of the list.

Most of the bad driving I see tends to be from people in Japanese or Korean white goods, they appear to have no spatial awareness, no concept of which lane they should be in are completely flummoxed by roundabouts and have no understanding that overtaking is perfectly legal..

The above type slightly edge out white van and mini cab drivers who don't understand the meaning of Give Way.

I could also add white vans, people carriers (mostly old Zafiras), SUVs and superminis to the list. I have seen appalling driving from all of these in the last week alone..

The point is, the general standard of driving on our roads, and the general attitude of people behind the wheel is declining due to a number of factors. Non existent enforcement (apart from speed cameras), dilapidated, congested roads, anti-car measures by city councils, and increasing stress and mental health problems among the population all play a part, I suspect.
BMW and Audi are more noticeable because they are now everywhere. Thanks to company car allowances and more flexible car policies, these have simply replaced Fords and Vauxhalls as the default company smoker. Back in the 80s and early 90s, you'd often have a Cavalier or a Sierra driven by an angry looking chap in a suit sitting 2 inches off your back bumper at 80 when overtaking in lane 3 of the motorway. Today it's likely to be a BMW or Audi.
You say it's perceived social status driving the bad behaviour, and that may be true for a minority. I'd actually argue that inverted snobbery also plays a part in many people who complain about them. I see it all the time driving a BMW. They are in a minority, but there are definitely people there who deliberately putt themselves into positions where they block or inconvenience you, presumably to make some sort of a point. Doubtless, these are the same people that also rant to anyone who will listen about "f****g BMW drivers!"
I agree with your post to a point, but it is a massive oversimplification. The roads are increasingly awful, and there are a number of factors at play.

Occasionally a diesel A3 or a Honda Civic will try to race me

Doesn't this prove a point though? I drive a 10yr old Mondeo as daily barge, and I find a lot of people try to block or inconvenience me in that and yes it's to make a point, because I drive quickly (but within the speed limits) and some people take offence to that, BUT it's nothing to do with the car and everything to do with people being bloody minded..
Now imagine the situation as I described, and image how the "social status" drivers encountering the same behaviour are going to think they're being disrespected in some way, and because they're financed upto their eyeballs in order to gain this supposed superiority, when people appear to be being obstructive it just sends them over the edge.

Latest compilation from UK Dashcams. Mostly the usual poor anticipation and silly overreactions. 8:10 is quite good though.

The Freelander at 2:29 seems to have brake lights that only illuminate when the brake pedal is released.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L3upW8lT52I

You're making judgements about people you don't know and haven't met that you can't possibly verify or substantiate. Now imagine the situation as I described, and image how the "social status" drivers encountering the same behaviour are going to think they're being disrespected in some way, and because they're financed upto their eyeballs in order to gain this supposed superiority, when people appear to be being obstructive it just sends them over the edge.
I have an 18 month old BMW that I bought new. I did this because I like the car. Nothing more, or less. I don't think it gives me any superiority or sense of entitlement, and frankly anyone thinking that as I drive along needs to have a word with themselves. What I have noticed is that I'm on the receiving end of aggressive or obstructive behaviour by a minority of drivers in a way that I never experienced driving my previous 2002 Focus, or even in my wife's MINI Clubman. It doesn't happen every day, or even every week, but there is a pattern there.
Unconscious bias is very powerful.

Bell-end manoeuvre aside, I was wondering why that "Ferrari" took so long to overtake, and notice the article refers to it as a Toyota MR2... Is this one of those lookie-likee MR2 bodykits? Perhaps someone who knows their F360s can point out the telltale signs if it's real or not. jamei303 said:

I think it’s because the crappy design of these means the brake lights are actually in the black part of the lower bumper? Doesn’t help that his 3rd brake light isn’t working either. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJudHAE_9xU
Visual Statistic has captured a serious offence from 3:00 onwards. The driver and passenger of Audi EN61 KHW ought to be locked up.

Was the car stolen ? They are clearly criminals, my feeling would be to put some damage into their Audi as well but little point if it's stolen as you're just inflicting criminal damage on some other victim.Visual Statistic has captured a serious offence from 3:00 onwards.
