Looks like the caravanner got brake checked by the grey car?
The grey car looks like it's stopped/broken down and the caravan ploughs into the back of it, immediately followed by the truck ploughing into the caravan.
Fair enough, thank you.

I'm not a regular on this thread so hope this isn't a repost. In this spectacular example of idiotic, selfish and plain st driving some idiot stops on a dual carriageway forcing a learner to brake and nearly get hit by following traffic. The sthead driving the Mercedes needs their licence revoking.

10:41 another idiot that doesn't use the brain they were born with. A 4-axle rear steer plant trailer turning right at a sharp junction is obviously going to need most of the available road width to make it round without flattening traffic lights, railings etc. Used to get it all the time when I was doing heavy plant movements for a demolition company.

Anyway this happened two years ago in Derbyshire not Manchester, so good to see AOL are on the ball.

https://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/news/local-news/t...

Video from another car here gives a good view of the aftermath, including a venting gas cylinder from the caravan: https://youtu.be/EfIcgWcZ8YQ

Seems the caravan took the brunt of it, the SUV pulling it and the silver Vectra it hit didn't come off too bad:

Needs a dangerous driving ticket for that. Although I suspect with such idiocy, he hasn't got a licence, or indeed any fking clue. the

1.25 - Pisses me off when people just decide to let random cars out for no reason. Felt sorry for the DCW who hit the C-Max. I'd have been livid.
Yes God forbid we should show any courtesy to other drivers rolleyes

DCW was asleep - tt

People who have no patience or courtesy on the roads - tts

C-Max driver in that video - normal reasonable person
Courtesy Causes Confusion (and Crashes).

That saying was mainly conceived from the scenario in the video. It's not rude, impatient or discourteous not to stop on a main road to let someone out of a give way, it's how we agree roads work when we accept the training, testing and licencing to use them. There's a whole book full of rules for driving - just follow those, don't make up your own.

(However, also, the 2 second rule applies... the DCW should have had enough time/space to not hit the Ford - the Ford was the root cause of the crash, but it only actually happened as the DCW wasn't driving to allow for idiots.)
Courtesy doesn't cause crashes, st drivers do.
Yes, I know it's a cliche, but what if a kid had run out such that the C-Max had to do the same or an even quicker stop? Sorry, but those saying it's anything at all to do with the driver of the C-Max need to hand in their licences or get some decent training on how to drive!

Jesus, what were they thinking, just stop on a DC and have a root in the boot ffs, they walk amongst us.

I got caught out the other week by a bloke doing a U turn across one to attend to his sons shagged out old Honda.

An event that required a cushion ?

To be honest, whatever is happening, get off a busy, fast road before attending to it or everyone might have an event when a truck hits them, a van locked up the guy said.

There is a shogun behind the VW that I think was towing the caravan as has damage front and back, think the VW has just stopped to help.

Or anyone else?

Apparantly because it stays flat, the Activa gives next to no feedback on how close to the grip limit you are.

It may not be the contribution to road safety it appears

The centre rear sphere next to exhaust was good at catching fire too

Um, isn't that the one being discussed higher up the page on another website in which a lorry decimates a caravan whose towing car has to emergency brake to avoid a car in front that's stopped?

Specifically on that crash, whatever happened to the "two second rule"? Surely the truck was far too close to the caravan to begin with.

To give you a clue, you're missing out on the insane footage of a lorry colliding with a caravan on the M1, you'd better get your computer working or you'll never get to see it.
