Um, isn't that the one being discussed higher up the page on another website in which a lorry decimates a caravan whose towing car has to emergency brake to avoid a car in front that's stopped?Specifically on that crash, whatever happened to the "two second rule"? Surely the truck was far too close to the caravan to begin with.

Very little evidence of sh*t driving there!
In a Cit Zantia ?....I was wondering if it was fake.It holds the record for lateral g

I will raise you this, however: https://youtu.be/oCPl7Er22e4?t=48 - Not quite the perfectly flat cornering of the Xantia, but it's been matched - By a jazz!
All this faffing with adaptive dampers; I'm not sure why nobody has gone back to the old citroen approach - Variable ride hight, cornering like that, and well known for ride quality. I'm sure they could do even better now.
As for the point in hand, What a collosal throbber of a merc stopping on the DC; I'd have been absolutely fuming.

Thanks for the reply , why Citroen has not kept the tech going is beyond me?
Or anyone else?Apparantly because it stays flat, the Activa gives next to no feedback on how close to the grip limit you are.
It may not be the contribution to road safety it appears
The centre rear sphere next to exhaust was good at catching fire too
I see your point about the grip limit, surely they could have developed it over the last decade though, but I suppose the bean counters put a stop to that. It would have been good to see what it’d be like now with current technological advancement.

You have to feel for the people having all their personal stuff scattered about the motorway

Surely auto collision control shuld be mandatory in lorries , it just makes sense, that's if it worked proprley
It's doesn't work properly, that is the problem. Too many false positives. DAF tractor units are some of the worst for it as certain overpasses on the dual carriageway bits of the A1 trigger it and the truck does an emergency stop in lane 1 with no warning. It's got to the point where truckers are refusing to drive them as the haulage company are saying if you manually disable the function in the dash console and then have an accident you'll be held 100% responsible, regardless of the circumstances .carreauchompeur said:
Wow, that sounds like a concern!
I'd like to see more info on this before taking Mr Train's tale as gospel. Link to a story or a trucker forum eg. Good to get facts out there (this technology is a powerful safety tool, so we shouldn't dunk on it without knowing exactly what's happening). Anyway, thread derail.
Great on shi*t road caught on cam
