The number of stranded motorists that decide to stand at the front of their vehicles is mind-boggling.

I think that could be the most dangerous driving i have ever seen. As said, overtaking a lorry on double white lines in the pissing rain with heavy traffic in the other lane and 100mph+. Unbelievable.

Uk bad driving caught on cam 2019 ep6
I've got real sympathy for the driver at 1:58 - he approached as slowly as he could (in fact he was stationary just before impact) and it's likely the cyclist was completely hidden behind the line of traffic. Not sure how the driver could/should have avoided that one but I bet he still gets the book thrown at him.

I've got sympathy for him too. It's the sort of manoeuvre most of us would do but he still crossed the lane without being able to see properly. One of the reasons I don't don't like people letting me in/out at junctions - you don't know that they have looked at all.

Case law will probably lead to it being 50-50 if it ends up getting that far.

How could it be 50-50?
It's 100% on the car driver for turning across another road users path, if it were two cars colliding it would be same.

The video has been removed. Here is another, but worse quality.

Fagan V Jeffers is an almost identical case which involved a motor bike. Went 50 50 as the car should have taken more care as should a bike moving up the inside of traffic. especially at a junction.

Yeah, a reason I much prefer moving up the outside. If I'm moving up the inside, I'm watching out at gaps in the cars, because I'm well aware that someone may be pulling out/in.

Of course, moving up the outside has led to people trying to block me from moving back in when the traffic starts moving, but that's easier to manage.

Who'd have thought something as simple as a missed gearchange would cause such carnage.

Wish I'd had the thought to hit save on the dashcam on the way home from the olds this eve. Not sh*t driving, but plod thought so. On the A616, between Ollerton and Newark, a road which really can be taken very quick, a bike went past the other way, easily well the wrong side of a tonne. 'Jesus, he was peddling' I said to S. 5-10 seconds later a fully marked up 3 series, blues and sirens on flew past at similar speeds. Poor bd, I thought, it's a joke they've lowered it to a 50, it's perfectly safe at double that.
