This ++.Slightly OT: I haven’t driven in France for about 5-6 years but this is something they used to get right. You could make long trips cross-country at a good pace with minimum frustration and without breaking any speed limits thanks to the good lane etiquette. Whenever I got home I’d wonder how so many can fail at something so simple, and it’s only got worse since then

You're forgetting just how insufferable people genuinely can be. Put it this way, at work one customer got absolutely livid with the company because the URL he was sent by the automated ticketing system had the word "nuonce" in it which is actually internal terminology for the system to define a not used once ticket holder. He want mental because someone labelled him a "nonce" and would not accept the fact that this is coding terminology used by the system and nothing more.Some people just are a bit braindead like that.

Gambling establishment. Sometimes I do front of house. Not often though as I'm usually shop floor or calling numbers. 
Both times I bit my lip and maintained a professional air of calm. On reflection though, I should have just told them to leave.

However, that said i have been party to many "watch this" moments and promtply did something stupid that was usually a direct result of me running out of talent. ONly ever executed when i knew the area and road layout mind you - this guys poor passengers unfortunately seen the writing on the wall..
