Amusingly, earlier in the week I have filmed a 675LT video that goes live tomorrow, with a bit of a twist. And yesterday I took the GT8 out for something quite fun that should go live on Tuesday or thereabouts.
The driving videos of yours are some of my favourites. Something I can relate to, especially good if you get the cars filthy!

The LT one isn't so much of that nature, but the GT8 should be something to be enjoyed in some form, I hope!

Right now I'm watching Tim, always liked his content and I've watched the last few uploads from Aleem which I've enjoyed. I tried watching SOL again but the content is just dreadful, now he's on the hunt for a DD (surprise, surprise) and he's pitching the finance company he uses for his cars. Just awful.

There's only so much of TGE/Archie I can watch so I stick with TGE and usually skip Archie's content because it's repetitive and usually clickbait. Sam's content has flatlined but I'll give him a free pass because he's preparing for his "world tour". I was a fan of JWW but he's all over the place and overall the channel is on a decline. There's a lot of bad uploads but the worst for me has to be his review of the SVJ, you get an invite from Lambo but you totally forget to do a general overview of the car and show the exterior of the car your driving.

Hopefully Tim will do more videos of him doing road trips in his cars. I thoroughly enjoyed them and it's nice to see the full potential of garage queens.

Tim / Shmee, your candid and transparent attitude is tremendous and, for me at least, makes your videos all the more accessible and authentic. It’s a pleasant contrast from the more BS end of the YouTube spectrum. Keep it up!
Thank you, appreciate it.

Shmee, I have actually enjoyed your recent 'filler' style videos talking about your current fleet. I know the weather isn't great, but I'd love to see the 675 and the GT8 get an outing. Probably wouldn't be much effort to give them a razz around some country roads in a day and make some content? Maybe a brief road trip to Wales or something? You've got some special metal in that collection, and quite a few i'd love to see more of while we all wait for the Ford GT and Senna.

Cool! I’ll send you an invoice for my ideas hehe

I only really watch Shmee, Car Throttle and LLF. The rest of the channels some of you guys are watching is like watching some crappy reality tv like celebrity love island in the way they ponce about doing nothing at all interesting.

I do also watch a bit of D.I.Y Mike as it's a bit of fun seeing what power they can get out of an old Honda engine with cheap Chinese parts.

The Smoking Tyre has gone downhill and become boring.

I would agree 're JWW again nice chap but all this lifestyle stuff is a bit poncy really. I guess a lot of the youtubers are lifestyle orientated but JWW is certainly taking that aspect of it way ahead. I guess this may appeal to a certain demographic but not to grown up car people like what us is.

+1

Especially given how several YT'ers feel about DadsNet, sorry Pistonheads!

Stand out video for 2018 for me, has to be the TGE, AHR, LLF collaboration.

I quite liked many of MrJWW's vids but recently they've become a bit too focussed on £££££££££'s and a 'lifestyle' that just isn't my thing.

Loved that Gen 1 GT3RS AH's mate has tuned although am a bit bored of constantly hearing the word tone whenever an exhaust is mentioned.

Anyone else?
Me too. He along with SOL, STG and Shmee were my favourite car YT'ers. Over the last year or so though I've stopped watching his stuff (not that he'll be bothered too much). I think his content has just crossed the line between a guy driving and reviewing lovely and interesting cars to someone showing off a lifestyle with his rich friends. It's all just a bit soulless.

Maybe that's a smart business decision for him but it's turned me off his stuff. I still enjoy the other 3 and even started to like Archie and TGE's videos. Plus of course the crystal meth of YT...Doug DeMuro.

They've become inextricably tied to his latest investment NVM.......

Its leading to bloody awful videos even if the content is fundamentally good but the intent to market the new business just comes across crass.

The most interesting content recently was his visit to another operation up Midlands were they had converted a big house into a den for car enthusiasts. Looked incredible! James content seems to take the flashy culture of Dubai for somewhere just outside London.......

Caffeine & Machine. Genuinely one of the best and coolest places I've ever visited, a proper petrolhead's mecca. Cannot recommend going highly enough.

Will throw my 2p in the pot and concur with JWW, well spoken and well shot videos, I found his earlier work just finely threading on the right side of rich man opulence, but lately stopped watching as I think he's just way off on the wrong side now, but what do I know.

However, there are a couple of fun videos over the coming week that I'm looking forward to, just hope they get the numbers to match the effort that's gone in as YouTube seems to be in a funny place at the moment for the car channels.
Isn't this just the normal december wobble? Happens online everywhere, if you're not now selling Christmas presents traffic is dropping.

I understand the ad revenue is higher in November / December for Certain channels / topics (or it was) which may be related to the volume if that is still the case

I've stopped watching JWW, like someone else has said he's just coming across as a bit of a tt now. Shame as he used to seem quite humble and make some good videos!

That's not been the case from my previous experience; I've always had strong channel performance in Novembers and Decembers - but then I couldn't tell you how much of that is down to putting in extra effort at this time of year due to the following:

It is very much the case that revenues in these months are substantially higher than elsewhere in the year, from 2-3x the earnings per 1m views that you might see at other times of year.

In my case, even with very weak November views at just 7.5m and Dec looking like it might only just beat that (although the upcoming videos might change things), I can't complain because the earnings are great but it's frustrating to see certain videos reach very low numbers that you feel should perform better.

There is a very staccato delivery to MrJWW's prose. Once I've dialled into it then it's difficult to get away from.

I can see why there appears to be a transition to some "lifestyle" videos/themes. I don't mind that but I think it needs to be separate from the car stuff. I think the Phantom 8 launch video, if I remember correctly, had a lot on the getting there, hotel etc rather than the car itself.

Does JWW read this thread? Wonder if he cares what the posters think, but I haven't seen one positive comment about his videos yet.. Surely this must be worrying for him.

I would be shocked if he didn't. He seemed to mention 'what do you guys want' after the initial wave of comments.
