Nope-I agree with Rob. At 20k you’re ‘influencing’ nothing. The product producers have been mugged off fir years by social media. Unless you have 1m plus you’re small fry. And lucky to get anything
And yet McLaren took Emma Walsh, Tatbels and Seb Delaney to Arizona for the recent Spider launches alongside the bigger names. The cost per view let alone the cost per car buyer influenced must have been very high. And BMW have provided Emma Walsh with an M2 Comp loaner - and delightful though she is she only has 40k YT subs, and her vids featuring the car have totalled about 70k views. Don't know how much exposure it has had on other platforms. Now being involved in this YouTube nonsense, it was fascinating seeing the weight YouTubers have. I witnessed one come over to a supercar stand to declare they were ready - the CEO was marched over for an interview seconds later.
As for the show, I thought it was great. Really impressed with Aston - it's like they've finally woken up! There was plenty to gawp over, and I'd recommend doing it once (you can purchase a ticket to go on the second press day, so not busy) to tick the box.
They need more places to get food though! It's a nightmare if you don't have a VIP badge.

What’s needed to go on a press day and can you get a seat in some of the cars or are they behind barriers
You need to be a professional journalist or a well known influencer/vlogger. Otherwise I think it's about 100 Euros to buy a 'special' ticket on the second press day. Although there are barriers, you can get onto stands and sit in most of the cars, yes.hondansx said:

Abso-frikking-lutely!!! I didn’t organise anything access-wise this year, so basically had breakfast at my AirBnB then McDonalds at the airport many hours later!Even if you do find something you want to eat, it’s ridiculously expensive - £7 for a ham and cheese baguette!
Indeed. Just watched today couple of CT/Merc rebuild episodes and they are very good. They made 10 minutes of some German old boy tinkering under a bonnet very watchable.
I assume the business model behind such a collaboration is to get people to subscribe to Mercedes' channel but it is full of such rubbish (mostly 30 second/1 minute adverts posted every day) that you don't want to clutter up your feed so you don't subscribe.

I just saw Sideways Sids Lotus Carlton vid. Absolutely fantastic! Better than anything I have seen in the telly for ages. These YouTube guys are giving us car people loads of free car stuff we never really had access to before. Thanks guys!
Really enjoyed that too. Mind you, it's a bit of nostalgia for me. Thomas' filming / editing was great too. Sam seems to have stepped up his edit again for the india road trip vlog:

I don't know how he's doing this on his own while moving from point to point. It's insane.

She did a bit of the driving in Oz. I wondered if she's responsible for doing the animations on the podcast videos?
If I'm honest though I'm not really getting into the Drive The World videos like I thought I would. Don't know if that's just because when it was announced he was doing the trip I thought he'd literally be driving around the world, but flying around the world and spending time in each place does seem a bit more Visit The World.

Totally agree a fantastic review and great editing/filming. A shame as it deserves more views than some of the other dross out there.BlackR8 said:

I think where Sam's content is different from other travel vlogs is that it's almost real time. Other interesting channels I follow and another very worthy mention for Kombilife here they put out a video every week or so. Really well edited with a bit of narrative and direction you really get a feel for the journey they are on but crucially they are putting a month of raw footage into each show edit so were well into their trip before starting the series and this isn't possible for Sam.I wondered if she's responsible for doing the animations on the podcast videos?

It's a first for the tubers so was never going to please everyone but I find it to be watchable and certainly he's near the front of the pack for editing and quality of footage. There must be some TV execs out there wondering why they have 23 people on day rate to turn out similar quality content.

I walked past him at Leadfoot Festival in NZ, his schedule is obviously very busy but he was merrily chatting away to some people who'd recognized him which was nice to see. I've enjoyed the travel/journey aspect of this blogs, not too interested in the "look what cars this person in xyz country owns" parts.
